Day of 365 - Me and Amanda had a picnic until it got dark, we had some sparklers too hence the long exposure. A very nice night!
Day 54 - Kav and Ian. Kav fucked up his thumb by mashing it between two poles and got a pin put through it by the hospital. His bandage fell off so he had duct tape wrapped around it instead. It looked disgusting. Anyway it was cool catching up with him and Christy.
Day 46 - 53. So yep havn't managed to find the time to upload or take many photos recently but here are few mainly shit ones I have taken over the past week. Definitely going to get back on it now though. I quit one of my jobs yesterday so I have weekends free to look for decent jobs. Other things that have happened include meeting Alan Rickman and going to dinner with him a couple of days ago. The cat cafe, walking 1000 steps in the Dandenongs, various people quitting at work, Shakey Graves, Amanda starting uni and Melbourne becoming one big grey cold capsule of winterness over-night. Seems like summer is pretty much over! Sad times.
Day 43 and 44 - So I guess this is the point at which doing this project gets harder as I'm often uninspired to go outside to take pictures or just can't find the time. I often see stuff in the day I want to take a photo of but I'll often not have my camera or don't have time to stop. Having a smaller camera would be a benefit but I think just having something new to play around with like a completely different lense would be enough to get me more interested again. When money allows!
Day 42 of 365 - White Night - It was White Night last night and our plan was to get up ridiuclously early (3 30am) and miss the crowds. Unfortunately by the time we had got into town it was 4 30 a.m (after a morning whiskey sour and some red wine) and for some reason they'd turned off most of the lights and the majority of the freaks had shuffled on home and climbed intotheir freakish beds as there were only a few stragglers left. Anyway, we got to see a few cool things before sunrise but nothing that blew me away. Last year was pretty crappy for me too as it was SO crowded... so I hope to give it one more chance next year and it fails me again it can get fucked! Here's a picture of the rare womens'- glasses-at-night-freak spotted near Flinders station.
Day 40 of 365 - Lovisa left! She just left. She used us, trashed our flat, broke our cocktail glasses, and then just discarded us like we were trash! No, not really, here she is in tears about leaving us, she wouldn't let me photograph her because she was so emotional. We literally had to force her out of the house. But yep that's it, she's gone and there's an empty hole in the sofa after she stayed here for three whole months with very few problems (except toilet problems and she frequently refused to drink alcohol with me on the balcony. But other than that she did good!). Goodbye Loavsa and good luck!
Day 38 and 39 of 365 - I had no time to post a photo yesterday so heres one for yesterday and the day before. The Tuesday photo was a photo I was taking in preparation for Amanda and lovisas return from NZ, but then I forgot to take the actual photo when they arrived, so instead its just a picture of the inside of our apartment... The seond picture is yesterday when Amanda came and met Boss with me for the first time. She really likes him too and we're going to see him tommorow too! He's a very smart and obedient dog, but he still shits anywhere he likes and doesn't know how to drop a ball after he's fetched it. I guess thats why he's called Boss....
37 of 365 - Nothing exciting today, just a picture of my flat. Woke up hungover, worked all day then went straight to go and do penguins, no time for photos unforntunately!
day 36 of 365 - Too tired to write today. This is a hobo I found wondering the streets. He didn't mind me taking photos too much I don't think. A nice chap.
Day 35 of 365 - I put an ad on gumtree asking if I could walk some ones dog for free. For about 2 weeks no one called and I'd forgotten about it but 2 days ago some one called me up to ask if I could walk their American Bulldog over the weekend. Fucking Sweeet! Here we are happy as Larry. Now I can walk him whenever I like.
Day 34 of 365 - Another stormy day of summer in Melbourne, was hoping to do some long exposures of the lightning but it seemed to calm down as soon as got home from work unfortunately so just got this one outside my house. I always get excited over storms. We ended up drinking a shit tonne of beer and whisky and ate a pie with 4 different animals on the balcony as we couldn’t go outside.
Day 33 of 365 A nice view of Melbourne from Sydney Myer Music Bowl. Isn't that nice...
Day 32 of 365 - I've been doing this for over 1 month now! Hurray. One twelth of the way there. This is a photo taken on my phone as for some reason I orgot to bring my camera out... Fail. Josh left the oountry yesterday to pussy off back home so we went out and said bye. Ended up going to a bar called the Lui which is up on the 55th floor of a skyscraper, you get the lift up and its shoot up extremely fast, your ears pop several times on the way up. To get in you have to get past a lady who judges you by how well dressed you are and questions you quite intensely about what your intentions of going up are. Errrmmm to drink obviously. Anyway the view is AMAZING and the bar is extremely fancy. Definetely reccomend. This is Josh outside the Lui riding a small child.
Day 31 of 365 - So Yesterday I had no time to upload a photo. Work work work lame lame lame bla bla bla you know the story. This is a chilli plant I bought Amanda, since she is going away for Valentines day, I thought it better to buy her something that won't just die and rot while she's away. So instead while she deserts me with Lovisa in NZ I will water her plant and when she comes back she can admire and bask it in all its living and hydrated glory. It's a very pretty little plant I must say.
30 of 365 - A spot I spend most days sitting waiting for the train on the way to work. I actually enjoy the time spent travelling to work as its a rare time that I get to myself.
Day 29 of 365 - So yesterday was St Kilda festival. Normally a beautiful day full of drinking, live music and a mega fuck tonne of people. Unfortunately this year I was working through the day and was planning on going down after as my friends were texting telling me how good it was. Alas by the time I'd finished eating dinner, fixing my bike lights (which took forever as they were K-mart quality wank ass shit) it was a too late. So I just cycled and met Amanda on the way home from work and we had a good ol' fashion night in watching Harry Potter try and act like he's not actually wizard in 'What if'. Bit disappointed and confused as Hagrid and Snape weren't included for some reason.
We had a very long day drinking yesterday. Matthew is a childhood friend, the last time I saw was about 15 years ago and he just got off the plane from England. We decided dumplings was the best choice for dinner. As you can see from their faces they are boiling hot and spicy as fuck !
