Christmas Tree | 002
âI did! Itâs actually on a billboard about a mile down the roadâ Madison said with a laugh. Even she had some trouble taking her own advice. It was hard! All her friends had told her she had to slow down and enjoy life but that was tough when you had a business to run. A successful business, a successful bakery in town at that. The times were hard and at the end of the day the last thing she wanted to do was get pretty and go out and have a good time but she knew she had to, she was still so young. It was hard but she did it.
She took her eyes off the road and looked at Liam for a moment and let out a soft laugh. âWho doesnât love a snow dayâ she smiled, looking back onto the road as she drove in the right direction to Liamâ house. âSheâll be happy about that because she gets to spend time with you. If sheâs home you canât go to work and she likes thatâ. Madison looked over at Liam once more. âShe told me during one class she misses that but she knows your work is important as wellâ she said in a more serious tone. She focused her eyes back on the road, chewing on her lower lip. âChristmas musicâ Madison asked in a more cheerful tone before turning on her radio, the Christmas music starting to play on the radio of her car.
Liam hummed as he nodded his head, âokay, I havenât seen it yet,â he replied, âmaybe i should take Riley there and get a picture with it.â He knew that it wasnât always easy to combine everything, he knew that he didnât get a chance to spend as much time as he wanted with his daughter when he had a lot to do at work, but he always tried and he knew that Riley understood but that didnât mean that he liked it. His friends and family had tried to get him to date, but so far he hadnât really gone out, and he didnât feel the need to either.
âI wouldnât know,â he said, âIâve always enjoyed them.â He smiled at her, âyou might have a point about that, but even if Iâm home with her, Iâd probably have to work at some point I just canât be home, even if Iâd want to,â he rubbed his fingers against his eyebrow, âas much as I love my job at times it feels like it might take up a bit too much time.â Liam let out a sigh, âI miss her too, itâs just hard to find the right balance and Iâm sure you know all about that too. â Liam leaned back, âsure if thatâs what youâre in the mood for, itâs always the driver that gets to pick the music.â
