Mass Effect: Liara T'Soni
There was quite a pause; a sigh and a slump of her shoulders with her back to the doctor.
”Everyone has lost something in this war. What I didn’t need was constant reminders. It was a loss. It was my fault, and I don’t need it to be thrown in my face any more than it already is.”
"What happened on Thessia was not your fault, Shepard." The asari's tone is not that of comfort, for her hurt at the Commander's outburst is too prevalent to allow such a change. Though bitterness does not change the truth.
-- Cerberus was to blame, not the Commander.
"It was Kai Leng's fault, The Illusive Man's fault. Not yours." A sigh. "I will grieve for my home world in the only way I know, and should that be an inconvenience to you I have no issue with remaining in my office." Liara strode towards the door, turning to Shepard before exiting. "Don't let your guilt drive you to cruelty. I don't tell you how to grieve, Shepard -- that was my planet, my loss."
“Hello, Liara.”
“How are you doing?”
"I am well, Shepard. Busy, but well."
"How are you holding up?"

He means no offense. the Commander rarely does, but he cannot for the life of him remember what the subject is. A hand comes up to hold his chin and concentrate on what’s being said — but the fact he needs a shave derails him. Sigh escaping his lips, he must admit to mistake.
"I’m sorry. What were we talking about again?"
Liara pauses, cerulean eyes regarding the Commander with a tired gaze.
"It's alright, Shepard. We're all tired."
Understanding becomes her, and for a moment she considers letting the Commander alone to address his own thoughts, though the importance of this topic leads her otherwise. "The Prothean Device," she replies, "I've been able to locate more resources for it, but my agents are running few and I can't risk sending them. I was asking you to speak to Admiral Hackett about this, perhaps he can spare a small team. I... would ask him myself, but I am afraid he may inquire as to how I came by my information. I think you can appreciate my need for anonymity."
”We’ve all lost our homeworlds! This one’s riding on me but I don’t need to hear you vocalise what we’ve all been going through!”
"-- Fine."
Liara blinked.
"I'm sorry, Shepard. I was not aware that we are all meant to suffer in silence."

"Sounds like you wanna dissect me in a lab somewhere…" "What?! No! I did not mean to insinuate, uh, I never meant to offend you, Shepard. I only meant that you would be an interesting specimen for an in-depth study- oh, no, that’s even worse-" "Calm down, Liara, I was only joking."

Mass Effect Christmas - Fishbone76
H I A T U S N O T I C E ;
I’m leaving tomorrow to go to Austin for nine days, I’ll be staying with my best friend and while we’re both quite used to spending all our time on the internet, I doubt that we will be doing so when we’re together. So, obviously, I doubt that I’ll be on much for the time I am there (other than the first day because, lbr, jet lag and airport waiting). I’ve set up a queue and will keep adding to it, just to keep my blog active. Other than that, feel free to send me messages or plot ideas! I’ll have my phone, so I can reply to you messages easily, but threads and such will have to wait.
Have a wonderful New Years (just in case I can’t say it when the time comes)!
