.:Show me how to dance//
((OOC: aljlfak Fwaaaa! I’m so sorry that I didn’t see this until now! Q____Q))
Edellion slightly shift her head toward the voice who suddenly spoke to her. She nodded to him acknowledging his presence then returned her gaze to the dancing ball guests watching them dance across the floor. “I agree, it is rather surprising seeing another standing aside when so many are out there enjoying themselves.”
She stood silently, watching the guests for moment before turning toward the man beside her. “If I may ask, what is your reason for not participating? It’s a ball for all the kingdoms, and from I what I’ve observed, a lot of friendly faces came to the event. Would you say you are one who does not do well in public events?” she dared to ask though she was sure the same question would be directed to her.
She blushed at herself knowing her reason for not being out there dancing. After spending so many years focused on trying to become strong, Edell forgot to learn simple, enjoyable skills such as dancing. Which was the reason why she didn’t mind being a guard for such events. Not that she objected to the idea of attending a ball herself, there was just that one little embarrassing thing that she worried about.
(The lady turned to give him a simple nod before turning her attention back to the throng of people dancing on the floor - and Cenweard hardly minded the minimal observance by the stranger, in fact, to not have someone prying too much was a welcome thing, given how much he tried to keep secret and all from his past. A simple nod was all he gave regarding the first sentence and the madam agreeing with how odd it was to see another on the sidelines, because if he agreed back to that sentence, the conversation might go a bit in circles, and that would hardly be good. No, this simple conversation was fine the way it was, short, to the point, and not-drawn out, and making it go around in circles would only make it drawn out and increase the likelihood of...prying into his past, he knew that.
He was intelligent enough to figure that out easily on his own, so the less this conversation went to talking about 'past' times, the better. Firm thoughts steady in his mind, locked in - he turned to face the stranger as she spoken again, asking why he did not participate, nodding a bit at the last part of her statement.)
I am not one for socialites, you are correct in that assumption, madam. To simply walk up and dance with someone I hardly know? Now, I can't do that, nor am I one to initiate conversations easily. So, it therefore seems logical for me to simply observe and only talk if I am curious about something, as I am doing now. Observing is quite interesting. To see the histories of kingdoms spoken of so much in the library books I keep ward of playing out a little as all kingdoms come together to 'enjoy' themselves in this time of peace...
(He paused to push his spectacles up a little to prevent them falling, before continuing:)
You can learn quite a bit from it, I say.
(This said, he fell silent again, before musing:)
One could ask the very same question you directed towards me to you, madam.
(He wasn't asking it, just pointing that out in a quiet, observant manner - and that was all he had to say for now. The "worlds best conversationalist", he was not.)
