UPDATE: Currently working on reworking the story from the beginning. Not sure how long it'll take, but I do plan to continue the story. As well as post some additional short side stories to go with the main story, which might have a title change.
Character bio: Atlas, a 3 ft long winged lizard. He is Marri's pet. Resembles an iguana, though he is purple with a white stripe running down his back, going from just below his head to the tip of his tail.

Marri Trelvani may look like a drow, but she isn't, she's dark skinned because her mother was a Calishite. Marri's dream is to create a magical map of the entire world of Karn. She worships Avandra, and is a wizard who loves learning about magic and enchantment. Ever since she was little, Marri has always loved romance stories, and been drawn to pretty ladies. It wasn't until she was older that she began to understand why.

Guild Leader - Altesa: A short and young looking Emberscale, but she's actually far older than she appears to be. She claims she's in her early 40's though she looks more like she's in her early 20's, but no one knows for sure. She's a highly skilled mage. She likes to lead the Guild from behind the scenes, for the most part. She never talks about her past, and is keeping many secrets.
The Protector - Zylfina: A tall, bald and muscular elven warrior, she has multiple ear and nose piercings, as well as several magical ruinic tattoos that she uses for summoning creatures she has made pacts with. She is fiercely protective of and loyal to anyone she considers a friend. Zylfina is a lesbian, prefers going by She or They, and likes being called Zyl as a nickname by close friends.

Haven't actually introduced them in the story yet, so for now all I'll say is that Ignorg is a hunter with a love of reading, Lorka is a monk who loves cooking and teasing her little brother.

Luna is a character yet to be revealed in the story. So for now, I won't reveal much information. Non-binary and prefers she/they. Luna is fiercely loyal and will do anything to protect those she cares about, happy to put herself in harms way if it keeps others safe.
The Map Makers Journey - Races and species. 1
Hyna: a type of demi-human that is part hyena. They have a keen sense of smell and hearing, as well as dark vision. Hyna make for excellent hunters or trackers, and quite a few of them make a living as bounty hunters. They have claws on their hands as well as their feet.
The Aracana: a race of beings that don't truely have a physical form or a gender. They are primal and elemental. The do have bodies, but they are made out of whichever element they choose, in a solid or semi-solid form. With the exception of wind, which looks more like a living tornado than anything else. They can have tails, wings, horns, even multiple sets of limbs should they choose. Their shape and size vary. Usually the bigger they are, the more powerful they are. They tend to specialize in magic of the same element that their body is comprised of, but that isn't always the case.
Emberscale: a race of demi-humans that are part reptile and excel at magic. It's very rare, but occasionally they can have wings. No one is sure how long their lifespan is.
Skyland Turtles: massive flying turtles with spines/growths on their shells that look like trees.
Dragobees: large dragon/bee hybrid species created by a crazy wizard. They have a potent paralyzing poison in their stingers.

Face of the Guild - Oloward Hammersmith: The false head of the Guild. A Dwarven warrior with a thick and bushy black beard and deep brown eyes. He fights will a shield and a heavy hammer. He isn't always the friendliest or nicest person, but more often than not he'll do the right thing in the end.
The Trouble Maker - Shakas, a green half-orc fighter who's bald with multiple tattoos and piercings. He's rather vulgar and crude. Most would describe him as a jerk or an asshole. He owns a variety of weapons trains with them often, but isn't particularly skilled with any of them. He does whatever he pleases without care of the consequences.
The Mute Sorcerer - Kallista: A beautiful Tiefling sorcerer with purple-red skin and wavy dark green hair. She was injured when she was a child and wasn't able to get to a Healer with enough skill to properly heal her injuries, as a result she lost her voice. She has a good heart, but is rather timid most of the time. She's pansexual and has a weakness for pretty people.

The Playful Kitten - Feather-Dancing-On-The-Wind: A young tiger striped Tabaxi girl who goes by Feather. She was rescued by Zylfina when she was very young, when she was found enslaved by a group of goblins who had killed her parents. Feather is very quick, nimble, and agile. She's quite good at being sneaky and enjoys the thrill of being a thief. Her weapon of choice is currently a dagger and various types of non-lethal poisons.

Main character - Mari Trelvani: Mari is a half-elf wizard, and a devoted follower of Avandra. Her father was an elf and her mother was a Calishite human. She is dark skinned with long silver hair, and sometimes gets mistaken for a Drow by those who have never actually seen one. Her dream is to one day create a magical map of the entirety of Karn.
Guardian of Mastith - Fharath Shieldheart: Fharath is a half-angel Paladin of Pelor. While tall and curvy, one could say she's a bit on the plump side as well. She has long curly red hair and bright green eyes. She keeps her true Angel name close, only ever telling it to those she truly trusts.
The Drow Twins - Rhyl and Irae: Rhyl is a rogue who has a fair bit of magical training. His sister Irae is a Cleric of Loth, whom they both worship, though neither of them are in favor with her. The twins look so much alike, that telling them apart is nearly impossible. And with both being very androgynous looking, it's even harder to tell one from the other. The pair have connections to the black market and like to think of themselves as something akin to crime lords.
The Map Makers Journey - General World Information and Groups of Interest
The World/Realm of Karn is full of vast mysteries, mysterious and powerful magics, ancient ruins, and an abundance of varying animals, creatures, people, and monsters.
The most prominent country in Karn is Arlona, the capital city in Arlona is called Mastith. Arlona is ruled by the Royal Amberheart Family, who live in Mastith. The Arloanian Empire hosts a strong army that is backed by the Red Circle, a powerful mage guild.
The Red Circle has been around for hundreds of years. They exist primarily to gather and study magical artifacts and tomes, as well as teach anyone capable of and willing to learn magic.
While Mastith may be the capital city, it isn't perfect. There is a large underground black market, as well as a theives guild. The theives guild is known as Shadowlight, but they operate by a strict code and set of rules, the most important of which is no killing except as an absolute last resort.
There is an all female order called Sister's of Mercy for Healers, Clerics, Priestesses, and the like. There is far more to them than what is known by the average public.
