Book 38: “I will cherish it always. No matter what may befall the world. No matter the oceans, or mountains, or forests in the way.” - Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas. This book was a bit of a struggle to get into. Chaol was one of the least interesting of the main characters to me in the first five books, so having the entire book revolving around him was a little difficult for me. While he has some character development it was all super predictable. The plot points that related to the impending war and the Valg was really interesting and kept me on my toes reading this book. But I really missed Aelin and her court in this book.

Do u have any recommendations for a fan of The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare?

YES I DO. Do yourself a favour and look into the following, they all get at least a little bit dark and they’re all fantastic:

Book 37: “It’s not that deep down I want someone to ‘take care of me,’ it’s that I’m exhausted, and occasionally overwhelmed by self-doubt. I’m steering the ship, but i don’t know what I’m doing. None of us do.” - Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick. I love Anna even more now after reading her book. She is my spirit animal in everyone. This book was such a joy to read, and her personality shines through the stories and narrative. I hope later on in life she writes another one, because she is an amazing and inspiring person, who I relate to so much.

Book 36: “People were messy. They were defined not only by what they'd done, but by what they would have done, under different circumstances, molded as much by their regrets as their actions, choices they stood by and those they wished they could undo.” - Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab.  This book was good. I do have to say that the reader is thrown back into the story, like they just finished the first book. It took a while to get into the book, trying to remember what a specific reference was, or what had happened to create this change. That being said, the story is beautifully written, and I was completely absorbed by page 100.

Book 35: “Do your thing and don't care if they like it.” - Bossypants by Tina Fey. I really enjoyed this book. Tina Fey is such an amazing woman, and learning more about her life and struggles was so inspirational.

Book 34: “Trying to go to sleep is often when I feel most engaged and alive. My brain starts to trick me into thinking this is the moment it should turn on the start working overtime. It is a problem. I need some rest. I have a lot to do.” - Yes Please by Amy Poehler. I love this book. I related to so much of what she wrote and there are lessons I can take from her life. She is an inspiring person and her book was just as inspiring.

Book 33: “’Don’t underestimate us farmers.’” - The Farmer’s War by Elise Kova. This book was amazing. I absolutely loved this series. I might have to reread the Air Awakens Series now that I have read the prequels.

Book 32: “As always, things remained on her terms.” - The Prince’s Rogue by Elise Kova. This book was amazing. I now understand more about how Raylynn and Baldair’s relationship works, and got to the place it was in the Air Awakens series. I have such a great appreciation for these books, as they add so much more context to the Air Awakens series, and the links are amazing to connect. The choice of reading the last one is difficult because I want to read about Daniel and Craig’s journeys, but I don’t want to be finished with this world.

Book 31: “’Next you’re going to tell me that you want to go find this long lost treasure.’ Baldair grinned like a fool.” - The Crown’s Dog by Elise Kova. I have been wanting to get back into this world since I finished the Air Awakens series back in February. This book was so good. I love the prequels and how it tells the story of the Golden Guard and Baldair. I cannot wait to read the next two books in this series.

Book 30: “Beauty was your armor. Fragile stuff, all show. But what's inside you? That's steel. It's brave and unbreakable. And it doesn't need fixing.” - Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo. I’m so sad this series is over. I loved it so much. Its been such a captivating series. It also answered some of the questions I had while reading the Six of Crows Duology. I wish I found Leigh Bardugo’s books sooner, as these are simply amazing.
