Back on Tumblr for some fandom stuff, how’s everybody’s summer going?

I haven’t put this on any other social media because it’s early days and things are very new and my mind is all over the place, but in the middle of the night last night it occurred to me to put it here:

I’m taking a break from drinking, probably forever if I can. It’s feels exciting and scary and right. I’m reading and researching and finding community and connecting with friends and family and just learning how to feel my feelings and inhabit my body again.

A new twilight book in 2020 lmao but definitely reading

Normal People (book and show) is the most relatable content for me. I spent so much of my early adulthood navigating ambiguous friendships with guys, exchanging tens of thousands of words in emails and yet never being able to just come out and say what I felt for them.

I keep drafting texts about this in my college friend group chat (which is currently discussing NP) but never sending because I don’t know how to phrase it. Because multiple people in that group chat were those ambiguous types of friends when we were in college, and I’m kind of scared it’ll be too on the nose?

But I’m also DYING to talk about it. A++++++++ content!

I just now realized that the actor who stars in all the James Potter mockups I like on Tumblr is also the wizard brother from Avengers. This is what being off Tumblr for so long did to me!!!!!!!

Good news: the dude on the right’s dinner companion didn’t respond to any of these prompts and just silently watched the hockey game.

Can’t decide who’s worse: dude on my left rattling off Stevie Ray Vaughn trivia to his date or dude on my right trying to get his friend to agree that moving somewhere with a woman because she gets into grad school in a different city is “crazy”

Driving to the office getting angry about 2020 and the lead-up to it, wondering how many friendships are going to die because of differing opinions on, like, Joe Biden. Can’t wait!
