Sad day for our country
I can't believe the chaos that went down last night, looking through photos of Birmingham, my home city, trashed and looted, I feel disgraced and saddened. Let's face it, this has gone far beyond anything remotely political or justifiable. It's opportunist thieves jumping on the bandwagon. I'm torn between wanting to stay here in Stoke and away from it all and getting involved in the city clean up. My friends have all said to stay away, which is probably the safer option but I just feel awful. I want to DO something. But if I'm honest, I think it's going to get worse before it gets better and I'm scared of getting caught up in the middle of it and becoming trapped in Bham. So for not I'm going to hold back, think of my safety and my children. But to everyone involved in this fucking disgrace, you should feel ashamed. You've raided people's livelihoods for a fucking suit and a new phone. You've destroyed a city in a display of mindless violence. Disgraceful behaviour. I feel ashamed on your behalf and I hope you get fucking robbed back. I hope they ID and lock you away. Bastards.
