Being overprotective can lead to them becoming spoiled. That works even with adults, though much slower, than with children.

Mun: Raijin has very justifiable reasons for being as protective of his family as he is. It's not just because of what happened to Kotone before they first got married. His POV on humans has never been 100% positive since a young age. He's been betrayed twice in his life. Once by his own kind, the other by a group of humans that took advantage of him. Not that he can't get along with humans nor live amongst them. It's just that he still has some wariness and prefers to remain cautious. Now, that doesn't mean he's naive nor lacks restraint either. He doesn't smother his family too much. He lets his kids play with human children and still interacts with others. He's also capable of respecting others' decisions and is never controlling. It's just that, to him, his family is his whole world right now. If he ever feels they're in danger in any way, he WILL act in aggression, especially if it's against those who ACTIVELY try to hurt his family, regardless on whether they're human, monster, or angel. He can't help himself there. It's just who he is. His past experiences in life made him this way. So do take care that even though he's a tad overprotective, he will only act if need be. And he does allow some independence to his children until they're grown enough to look after themselves.
