About the Merfolk AU, Ya said that April hadnt see land before but ya didnt say anything about Casey! Does that mean that perhaps he was really young when he saw it? Maybe for a few moments before his family got swept away? or does it mean that Casy lives or used to live in land until they decided to go on a ship with his dad (because maybe they where fishermen?) and something happened and it led to Casey's dad dissapearing after their boat got turned over and saved by the O'Neils?

Yes, Casey saw land when he was little! His family used to live on an island until a hurricane devastated it, and the survivors joined one of the floating cities-those huge ships most humans live on. His mother was killed in the hurricane, but Casey, his father, and his little sister survived and now live on the same floating city as the O’Neils.

You know that phrase, “it takes a village to raise a child?” That’s basically the philosophy of these floating cities. The parents of course have the final say on a lot of stuff, but everyone helps each other out because they have to. There aren’t many humans left, and everyone has lost someone, so they all band together. Casey and his sister were mostly left in the care of the others on the ship, because his father was so distraught by the loss of his wife. 

Casey is really good at fixing mechanical things, a skill he picked from watching his mother - which is great, because a lot of people don’t know how to fix old tech anymore. He passes this info onto April, who becomes his best friend. And then he and Donnie, when they meet, fix up old junk that Donnie finds in the sea together.
