—&&dream lover.

Alex felt the blood race to his cheeks as his heart began to pound. His eyes were wide as his eyes connected to Hartley’s. “I– I like you too,” he stuttered out. “A lot, a lot…”
He couldn’t believe that the Hartley Wolfe was liked him. He felt frozen in his seat, in a complete daze of happiness. She liked him just as much as he liked her! He wasn’t sure what to do, seeing as he was a coward when it came to girls. Should he lean in too, should he close the space between them? Alex had no idea. His body slowly started leaning towards Hartley as if his mind had decided what to do without his consent (but Alex wasn’t complaining).
I honestly can’t believe you like me, Alex said to himself, his eyes still wide as he got closer and closer to Hartley. He was scared he was going to wake up, that this was all going to be a lie or dream he created for his own sorry soul. He prayed this was real, that once their lips touched he wouldn’t wake up from a dream in disappointment. He also hoped this wasn’t some type of joke, but Alex highly doubted Hartley would act like that.
‘Alot, a lot.’ the words made the blonde giggle very quietly, the heat of her breath touching Alex’s lips. They were so close now, lips hovering over one anothers’ as Alex waited for Hartley to make her move. She stared deeply into his glistening brown eyes. Hartley’s stomach was in knots, heart practically jumping out of her chest. She moved her hand a little and stroked the side of his face before inching her lips closer to his. Her eyes slowly fluttered closed. She finally pressed her lips against his, kissing him deeply. Her lips eagerly clung to his, as if they had been waiting forever to reach him— well, they had. Her hand slid down from his face and moved to his neck, staying there whilst the kiss deepened. She gripped onto him a little, now pushing her body against his as her lips locked with his over and over again. The only time they parted was when either one of them came up for air, but Hartley did it hesitantly. She never wanted to part with his lips or this moment. She was kissing him, the boy she’d had her eye on the second she saw him. She knew it was wrong, she wasn’t stupid— but how could something so blatantly wrong feel so inexplicably right? How could she do anything other than follow her heart?
