Cassie brushed her hair away from her eyes as she looked over the paper in her hand. She had scrawled the address down, fallowing a roommate ad. She just needed a safe place to hide out something inconspicuous.
She swiftly walked up the steps to the home. The house seemed overrun by plants. It seemed empty. If it looked like this it might be safe. A good place to try and make a new life.
She slowly knocked at the door.
Cassie had been in the dungeon. The dark magic seemed to coil around her. It hurt. But she had told them to run. She had helped them.
Willow was cautious upon entering the castle, casting out her magic in search of Cassie. Her bond thrummed painfully, equal parts hopeful to be reunited and fearful of what she might find.
Cassie shuddered at her bond. It hurt to know Willow was close. Damn it she couldnāt be here.
Willow slowly made her way down to the dungeons, continuously casting out to check for guards or for her aunt. She had to knock out several guards as she made her way down the line of cells. When she finally arrived at Cassieās cell, she let out a soft sigh of relief.
Cassi didnāt budge. āYou shouldnāt be hereā¦ā
āNo, I suppose I shouldnāt be. But our daughter is missing her mother and I need my mate.ā Willow replied.
āIā¦.I donāt know where the queen is.ā Cassie mumbled as she took a step backward. āYou need to goā¦.please.ā
āIām not afraid of my aunt.ā Willow replied, stubbornly remaining there. āCass, I can help you.ā
āI didnātā¦remember youā¦.oh godsā¦.Iā¦I didnāt mean to leaveā¦.I didnāt mean to. I swear.ā Cassie whimpered.
Willow cautiously entered the cell, holding out a hand for her mate. āLet me help me, love.ā
āIt wasnāt my fault.ā Cassie whimpered.
āNo it wasnāt.ā Willow replied.
āWe have to stop her.ā Cassie replied softly.
āOf course we do.ā Willow agreed.
āHā¦her magicā¦ā Cassie mumbled. āHow can we evenā¦ā
āSheās not as strong as she thinks she is.ā Willow replied.
āThenā¦weā¦we have to stop her.ā Cassie replied softly.
Willow reached out to cup Cassieās cheek, āI canāt do that until you come back to yourself, darling.ā
āIā¦..donāt know how.ā Cassie looked dull.
āReach into our bond. Let it guide you back to me.ā Willow begged.
Cassie nodded slowly. Her magic really had been locked off from her. It hurt.
Willow gently tugged on their bond with her magic, doing her best to be coaxing and warm. āCome home, Cassie. You promised me you would. We have to be there for Elanor.ā
Cassie nodded slowly. āI want to go home.ā
āI know you do.ā Willow purred softly.
The tendrils of dark magic seemed to shrink away. Cassie couldnāt help but smile.
Willow continued to purr quietly as she flushed out the darkness. āYouāre almost there, darling.ā
Cassie nodded as her own magic started to bubble up. āThank youā¦ā
āAnything for you, my love.ā Willow kissed her forehead. āI should be thanking you for protecting our baby.ā
āI canāt believe I didnāt realize itā¦ā cassie sighed sadly. āIām so sorry.ā
āMy aunt cursed you, didnāt she?ā Willow asked quietly.
āYesā¦ā cassie growled.
āShe needs to pay.ā Willow growled
Cassie nodded slowly. āOh absolutelyā¦.ā
Willow carefully helped Cassie to her feet. āCome onā¦we need to end this.ā
