Enter the mole

So this new colleague got hired about 2 weeks back and she’s already getting to be a total pain in the butt. She also teaches my subject but while I am also a manager she is not. Some how I have come to notice that she tries to compete with me. It has also been brought into notice by few of my other fellow colleagues. 

The other day I caught her taking a feedback about me from my trainees...as the Academic Head it is my responsibility to take feedback...plus she has been here 2 weeks and she thinks she can take feedback about me! and she did it sneakily thinking I won’t find out. 

She interferes in my work...always trying to keep an eye on what I am up to, she has the nerve to ask me for my notes...what trainer is willing to share notes!! I asked her for help which she did not give me citing that she’s unwell...then when I discuss my work with the director she comes in and tries to take credit for my work. I am her senior but she addresses me by my name, If I am given a task she will try to interfere. I wanted us to get along but it is getting harder and harder for me. Even today I was having a meeting with am employee she asked me if she can do it for me...I told her I will handle it and yet she interfered, I told her not to interfere in my business. Not sure if she got the message...this is getting on my last nerve. I work alone and I like to do my work by myself but she just won’t let me. I am not a rude person and I don’t want to act like her boss...which technically I am...argh!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is so messed up. She is playing a major game and I know it is only a matter of time before I blow up...it will NOT be pretty.

So much has happened at work, I decided to write it down. Colleagues pretending to be pals go against you when they feel threatened.

Just to have fun, lets give interesting names to all the main characters.

The Boss: The Lion

His 2 sidekicks: the Hyena and the Snake

The Frog, The Chicken 

Yours truly: Unicorn

So the Unicorn works as a trainer at a jungle, she was pals with the Hyena and the Snake, the Lion was also doing a good job at keeping peace in the Jungle..Until bam! one inauspicious day the Lion was betrayed by the jackals and went through a financial crisis. The Unicorn being naive and innocent decided to give him financial support. The Lion, Hyena and Snake were very happy that they got to move to another jungle to start over again. Everything was fine until...one dreaded day the Unicorn received a cup of coffee...

That’s right..one cup of coffee can change lives...

Petty drama 'queens' at work

The only people who are truly happy at your success are your parents, some members of your family and few friends. Expecting your colleagues at work to be happy for you is being too ambitious. There are 10 million people trying to take your spot, trying to pull you down...and most of it revolves around trying to butter up the boss..yeah I'm not into that but I let my work speak for myself..letting uncouth people get to you will not help...work harder, be nice, be real, be genuine and THAT will bring you nothing but more success and the attract the right kind of people around you.

Corporate Pedophilia?

I was just watching a very disturbing video about a modern day term called corporate pedophilia.

Its incredible how subtly THEY are trying to influence the children to be arrogant, confused, chaotic, self righteous little sexual objects. 

I always thought, just like the majority of others, Disney channel to be the most wholesome, family oriented, adolescent friendly channel on TV, right? wrong! 

they have hidden subliminal messages in movies like Peter Pan, The Lion King 2, snow white, Popular TV shows in the 80s-90s era were all family oriented (Full House, The Brady Bunch, Different Strokes, Family Ties, Step by Step etc) and aimed at teaching valuable lessons to children and put a lot of importance on parents. Where are those shows now? What has the new generation grown up watching? unfortunately I am part of it. 90210? Scandal? even Disney shows are trying to eliminate parents all together! most of the shows either don't show them at all, and if they do they are usually dumb! I watched a clip where the child was talking down to her mother and the background laughing track went on! this reinforces children the same kind of callous attitude in the young minds that are watching these shows..they sit there thinking "Oh parents know nothing!" 

Every show is about teens, pre-teens dating,,,finding boyfriends/girlfriends, cheating..who is there to teach them that there's more to life than that! 

I would encourage parents to keep a watchful eye on the content their kids are looking at on TV. Nick and Disney are not as safe as one would like to believe. 

Here's hoping for a better, simpler and safer future for the generations to come.
