Alice adored buying clothes for her little babies. If she was really honest, she adored buying her three babies anything and everything. It made her happy to see them happy. And she wanted to make sure they could have anything in the world. She wanted it even more so considering that half of their family didnât want to even acknowledge their existance. Alice was grateful that they didinât understand it yet. But she feared the day that they asked about their other grandparents. It pained her that they would miss out. But really, she should know that they wouldnât. She and Frank would never allow that.
Alice knew that she shouldnât spoil them too much, but she just couldnât help it. And it was exactly why Alice was here shopping today. She wanted to pick out some new dressess for her girls. They were beginning to totter around a little now, and she wanted them to have some cute dresses. Of course, they had lots of play outfits too. But, alice adored cute dresses.
She looked up as she heard a vocie, and she smiled at Lila. They had children of a similar age, and so had gotten to know each other pretty well. It made Alice happy, especially to know that not everyone from the old pureblood world wanted to alienate her. âI know what you meanâŠ.â She murmured with a little laugh. âMy twins are two different sizes, which in itself is hilarious considering they are the exact same age.â

Lilavati did not have anything against dresses in principle, after all her wardrobe was very nearly entirely made up of dresses, but she drew the line at dressing young children in scratchy lace and stiff tulle that made them look like a cheap wedding cake. She preferred to dress her girls in simpler, more comfortable clothes made up of materials like cotton rather than satin. Lilavati did not want her daughters to grow up afraid to be children, but rather feel free to explore the world and experience life to the fullest. She never scolded them for any damage done to their clothes over the course of the day, especially since magic could easily right any wrongs.
For her part, Lilavati was focusing on pretty but practical leggings and onesies for Astoria. She was just beginning to toddle around, with the help of furniture. Lilavati remembered the bruises and scraped knees that followed many of Daphneâs earliest steps, and she wanted to gentle that as much as possible. Still, Astoria loved looking like Daphne, and Daphne loved comfortable dresses, so Lilavati had picked up a few skirts as well.
âThe exact same age and twins, for pity's sake! You would think they, at least, would be the same size.â Lilavati laughed, still a quiet, appropriate sound but heartfelt, and shook her head. âAstoria is much taller than Daphne was when she was one, Iâm afraid she may be taking after the Greengrass side of the family.â Lilavati tried not to look to put out by the fact. She didnât want her children to inherit anything from their father, though they were stuck with the name.
