they could have contracted at that club and spread it to other people after. people have a right to be mad like some have lost loved ones

im pretty sure they got tested after going out based off the information i’ve been seeing, so that’s likely not the case. especially since they’re high-profile idols under major companies. i’m pretty sure their companies are all on top of their health so that they can keep working and keep promoting during this time. not to mention that they would come in contact with all their other members as well (jungkook - 6 other members, mingyu - 12 other members, jaehyun - 8 other members [considering ONLY NCT127], eunwoo - 5 other members) and that isn’t even considering staff members, stylists, managers, bodyguards etc. so if they did contract it when they were out, they would’ve known. their companies would’ve known. hell, i’m pretty sure the general public would’ve known they contracted it when they went out to the restaurant and bar, aka they weren’t at the club.

im not saying people aren’t allowed to be upset, because well yeah. but if they went out during that window of time where there were no confirmed cases and no strict guidelines being implemented, then are they really at complete fault here? like, i understand that it’s a global pandemic right now. im not dumb. theyre not dumb. as high-profile idols, they should’ve been taking extra precautions at the mere mention of the disease. im not sympathizing with them and coddling them trying to say they’re perfect and did no wrong whatsoever. but this was a week before things got serious. people were still saying it wasn’t serious. especially when there were zero confirmed cases. a week before my state went on lockdown, everyone was still living life normally. there was talk about covid, but everything was still open. i was still working in a crowded mall on the weekend before strict guidelines were implemented. people were still going out like normal JUST like they did. then confirmed cases happened and things shut down JUST like their situation. so to be mad at people for living life normally a week before the big announcements and laws came forth seems to be really dumb???? the man in itaewon that went to the club and tested positive for it was a week after they went. and again, should they have gone out? probably not. but they were still allowed to. they were allowed to live their life normally just like you and just like me before the outbreak, which is what makes this very confusing. especially when the proof dispatch (who is always reaching for a scandal, especially for bts) is providing is a grainy picture that doesn’t resemble the person they’re referencing.

do i think it’s a bit annoying that people are on their asses for going out (not even to the exact club) A WEEK before the outbreak when there were not strict guidelines/lockdowns to abide to, especially when they were all tested negative and therefore couldn’t have passed onto anybody else? a little before it’s not like they could’ve predicted this happening.

do i think they should’ve been more mindful about going out considering status and job in the conditions? yes, but tbh it’s not like i can stop them from hanging out with their friends just like anyone else.

however,

what people should be mad about in regards to this situation should be that dispatch decided to name drop high-profile idols the exact moment the creator of the nth room was shown to the public. people should be putting their focus on the fact that dispatch is trying to divert attention from this case because they know that kpop fans will lose their mind over something small over this.

“you are so unbelievably cute.”

the words melted on your tongue like sugar and painted soonyoung’s ears red with adoration, but you didn’t care how random it sounded—you couldn’t deny that, with his cheeks stuffed with popcorn and eyes intently watching the screen, soonyoung was the definition of cute.

it was almost like a tradition. every other sunday night, you and soonyoung would visit the drive-in because something about sitting on top of his beat-up chevy while the radio crackled to life made all of life’s stresses melt away. the sun dipped gently below the horizon, the first signs of dusk coercing the fireflies out of hiding to illuminate the tall grass beneath you. soonyoung sat with his legs crossed underneath him, one leg bouncing slightly while his eyes sparkled, clearly engrossed in the film.

it was jurassic park; which one, you weren’t sure. you couldn’t pay enough attention to the computer-generated dinosaurs to tell, not when soonyoung sat beside you, his lips forming a little pout every time he whispered something to you. hell, you could hardly focus on the words he was saying, instead your mind clouded with the desire to pull him close, trace the dips and curves of his face with your fingertips, and capture his lips in a slow, tender kiss.

the aforementioned compliment stuck so prominently in your mind, repeating itself like a mantra. you found it difficult not to voice your thoughts. so you did, allowing yourself the singular confession while biting back the urge to compliment every single feature of his that came to mind.

soonyoung’s eyes darted over to your figure, brewing a mixture of confusion and timidity. he laughed, though not with his whole chest as he typically does; rather, he forced a laugh to try and rid himself of the fluttering in his chest. “ah, thank you.” he beamed, running a hand through his bleached blonde locks, his gaze glued to the laces of his sneakers.

“i mean it.” the cicadas sang and the radio crackled in the background, but you could only focus on the sound of soonyoung’s breathing right beside you, how it grew slightly more labored as his cheeks and ears colored red. you reached for him subconsciously and smiled softly when you felt him place his hand in yours, running a thumb delicately over your knuckles. you swallowed when his eyes finally met yours, pools of brown darkening in the evening light. he was captivating like this, staring at you with such innocent intensity you were certain you would burst. “there’s something so, so compelling about you, soonyoung.”

at your comment, his face broke into a heart-shattering grin, a bashful chuckle quickly following. “ahhh,” he protested, rocking slightly back and glancing over at the setting sun. “while i would like to agree with you,” he joked, attempting to break through the sweet shyness that radiated off of him, “i can’t.”

you tilted your head, eyebrows furrowing in confusion. “why not?”

“because...” he held out the last syllable of the word, “you are much, much, much more captivating than me. everyone thinks so! i’m like...the moth to your butterfly.” he offered you a dumbly proud grin, as if he had recited the most poetic of pick-up lines, and you merely scoffed and shook your head.

even when he makes such senseless, cheesy statements, you found yourself endeared by his every word. god, you fell harder for him by the second—giddiness bubbled up your chest whenever he was around, and you spent every second together wondering if, finally, you would have the courage to put your most secret wishes to action.

“soons.” his eyebrows raised slightly at the nickname, indicating that he was listening to you intently. you were unsure how to approach this, as your friendship with soonyoung was something solid, safe. he had always been by your side, lighting up your world with his goofy antics and unique charm. you couldn’t lose that, but you also couldn’t go on ignoring the overwhelming desire that resided deep in your chest. “can...can i....”

soonyoung’s gaze softened when he realized you were struggling with your words. “hey,” he muttered, shifting so he could face you, taking your hands in his, “what’s the matter?”

from this angle, you knew you couldn’t contain yourself much longer—his blonde locks fell in such a way that your hands yearned to push them away from his cheeks, the colors of the sunset illuminating his features from behind. the spring breeze caused him to curl into the knitted blanket draped over his shoulders, but his gaze stayed steadily trained on yours, searching your features for any explanation for your odd behavior. you sighed, allowing your fingertips to cautiously, slowly, run up and down soonyoung’s forearms. the longer you stared into his eyes, the deeper you fell, the more your heart commanded you to speak.

“can i kiss you?”

the first thing you noticed was soonyoung’s eyes and how they widened to the size of quarters when your feelings ultimately overrode what little common sense you had left. then you watched them dart down to your slightly parted lips, an action that you mimicked only to see soonyoung’s plump cheeks had stretched his lips into an incredulous smile. his tongue darted out to wet them, and you felt your breath hitch in your throat, completely in disbelief that soonyoung was looking at you like that, let alone inching closer to your face. “really?” he asked, the purest form of infatuation riddling his features when you nodded yes in response. one of his hands slipped out of yours, cupping your cheek and gently guiding your face towards his.

“finally.” he breathed the word out like a sigh, and you felt his breath against your lips as he whispered, “i never thought you would ask.”
