Just an Ordinary Day {{Talos & Lily}}
If catching her off guard meant that he could see that gentle blush spread across her cheeks, even for the briefest of moments, then it was worth it. As she sat down across from where he stood he leaned against the counter, resting his forearms against the surface and folding his hands together before him. “Yes, Logos has had plenty of visitors, but I personally have not had many. Not any who came here expressly for me anyway.” It was awful sweet of her to take time out of her busy schedule just to come visit him, especially when it was her first day off in who knew how long now. As she went on to explain that she had the next three days off he raised his eyebrows in surprise. “A mini-vacation?” He questioned, glancing at the pamphlet as she pulled it from her pocket. “Well, are you offering? I think I know a guy who could definitely use a vacation…”
She hesitated for only the briefest of seconds. "Yes," Lily said, a slow smile splaying across her face. "Yes, I suppose I am. Asking that is." Glancing down at the brochure, she began to play with the edge of it. The nerves were finally setting in. "If he's willing, of course..." The words were added quickly, and she went from fraying the edge of the brochure to picking at her fingernail as she waited for him to speak. "It's a big cabin. Three bedrooms, sleeps six I think. There's a pool table, if you like that sort of thing. A hot tub. It's way off the main road, so it would be private..." Lily was rambling again, so she caught her bottom lip in her teeth and just shrugged sheepishly. "You know... if you're interested."
Just an Ordinary Day {{Talos & Lily}}
The smile grew a little more when he saw it was Lily, the falsity of it washing away in an instant. There were very few in Atlanta that were capable of getting anything genuine out of him these days and Lily was definitely among those few and far between. “Oh have I?” He remarked with a chuckle, brushing his fingers through his hair before straightening up a bit. “I am always happy to provide a warm welcome.” Talos knew that Lily had been busy with work over the past week or so but he had honestly begun to miss her over the short time they were apart. It was far easier to handle than other stretches of time had been, though. “I am well, even better now that I have a visitor. Are you off of work today?”
There is was. That genuine smile she so loved to see. "You have," Lily smiled, ducking her head before the blush spread. She was getting better at these social interactions, well at least with him, but he could still catch her off guard from time to time. Walking over to the counter, the Sphinx took a seat across from Talos. "I imagine you haven't been short visitors lately," she said matter-of-factly. It wasn't to discount what he said; she really did imagine that people had been lined up to see him. "I am off work today. The next three days actually. I figured it was time to cash in some of those vacation hours they gave me as a sign-on bonus. I was thinking of going to the mountains." She pulled a pamphlet out of her pocket which listed several rental cabins about an hour and a half away. "Know anyone that might want a mini-vacation? I'd hate to go by myself."
Just an Ordinary Day {{Talos & Lily}}
Talos needed a sense of normalcy and he wasn’t finding it from Alex or Phoebe, not when all three of them were still trying to pick up the pieces of what had occurred and trying to find the proper head space themselves. But maybe it wasn’t with a particular person that he needed to get things back on track, he just had to start acting as if everything was fine, as if things were returning to the way they had back in December when Christmas cheer was in the air and everyone was excited and happy. If that meant going back to serving coffee for endless hours on end, then so be it. It was mind numbing work and silenced the voices in the back of his head, gave him something to do with his hands, kept him alert to some extent. Even if a number of customers were rude he was going to make the most of the otherwise pleasant day taking care of Logos while Alex took some time with the kids. They both needed it, didn’t they? Glancing up as the bell above the door rang to indicate a new customer he gave them a smile, which undoubtedly required a little more forcing than he would’ve liked. “Welcome to Logos, what can I get for you?”
Work had been consuming her soul. Her soul... a funny word that. Up until recently, Lily hadn't believed she had a soul. She was a woman of science...of logic and reason. There was no room for souls in that paradigm. Events had changed her. People had changed her. He had changed her. She smiled when she guessed right about his working today. It had been close to a week since she'd last spoken to him - work and letting him heal had gotten in her way. Still, it was so very good to see his face - and the smile on it - as she entered the shop. "You've already given it to me," she answered, and then understanding how it sounded hastily added, "the warm welcome, I mean. I was just looking in to see how you were doing."

Today's the Day ► Lily & Sawyer
Sawyer nodded, taking another bite of his pizza before submitting to being a more respectful table-mate and setting the slice back down on his plate. “Hi, Lily,” He greeted with a smile, wiping his hands off on a napkin. “Good to meet you too. I’ve been in town only a short while, you probably heard the news or something.” He didn’t want to go into details when there was so much buzzing around of media and police enforcement and the girl seemed smart, he was sure she could put two and two together. “What about you? Atlanta native or something like that?”
"The news?" She was puzzled for a second, before the pieces clicked together and she realized what he'd meant by his words. "Oh," Lily said, looking down quickly and fiddling with the crust of her pizza. "I'm sorry for asking." The Sphinx had only met a couple of people who'd been in the camps, but she should have realized that she would run into a few here and there. "No, no," she replied quickly. "I've been here a couple of months now. I came for work. It's nothing spectacular or anything, I can assure you. Have you found a place to stay," Lily asked, aware that it may have been prying, but she wanted to make sure the boy was getting back on his feet.
Today's the Day ► Lily & Annabeth
“Thank you,” Annabeth repeated and smiled at the woman as she bit into her pizza. Her stomach growled loudly at the smells from all around her and she laughed lightly. “I guess it’s about time I get something to eat,” she said grinning. Accepting the offered hand she shook it and smiled again. “It’s nice to meet you Lily. I’m Annabeth and not really. I came to Atlanta a while ago, but I only recently moved to Little 5 Points for business. I don’t even have my own place yet and am staying at a friend’s place.” It was all true enough even though it was only half of the story. But the whole story wasn’t something she would share with anyone anytime soon. “How about you? You’ve been in Atlanta for long?”
Lily knew the feeling. Her own stomach had been growling before she'd arrived. "I've been in Atlanta for a few months," the Sphinx answered. "I work for the medical examiner's office, so I came for work. It's been...well, it's been an adventure." She wasn't sure how to put the past few months into words, really. Adventure seemed as appropriate as anything else she could come up with on the spot. Lily bit into her pizza, letting the aromas of fresh bread and tomato sauce fill her senses. "This really is the best pizza in town, so you've stopped at the right place. What do you do for work?"
Today's the Day ► Lily & Megan
"It’s more you?" She laughed slightly and took a bite of her pizza, giving a slight noise of satisfaction as she did so. "I haven’t had pizza in ages. This is great." She finished chewing and took a sip of her soda before shrugging, "I don’t really have a preference. Megan probably more than Meg." She laughed slightly at a memory, "I think my governess called me Meg once until my nan had a fit about it." She sipped her drink before nodding, "So Megan, I guess. Names are a funny thing, aren’t they? one could work so well for one person but be completely terrible for another."
"It's more me," Lily agree, and then furrowed her brows at the proclamation that Megan hadn't had pizza in ages. Who didn't eat pizza? She wondered, briefly, if the Dryad was on one of those fad diets... the lemon, water, and pepper craziness that had been sweeping the nation. Lily couldn't live like that. She needed pizza. And coffee. "Names are a intricate part of society," the Sphinx said, smiling as she took another bite of her heavenly pizza. "It's a cultural and personal identity...even more so than we believe. A name used to be tied to what you did for a living, what value you had to society. For instance, Thomas Baker was the village baker. Phillip Mason...the village mason. So forth and so on. Now days, names are still important, but it's hard to tell the worth of some one just from their name."
An Unusual Feeling || Logan & Lily
Once the bandage was fixed, Logan decided to make an effort to bring at least one person’s night up from the depths of doom, gloom, and despair. So much negativity surrounded their tight knit group of Mythics and their supporters these days. It was as if none of them felt they’d ever see the sun again. Bound and determined to make the Sphinx smile for a little while, he leaned toward her and whispered conspiratorially. “Honestly I’m just that bad of a mender. Though, once I realized that the sympathy vote was on the table, I had to get out of the house and see what I could get. Do you think it’s working?” The flash of a wink crossed his eyes as they filled with the mischievous playfulness that so often emanated from the Goblin’s core. “After all, I did succeed in bringing a beautiful woman to the seat next to mine.”
She opened her mouth to tell him that she didn't think it was working, but then he spoke of a beautiful woman sitting next to him. For the briefest of seconds Lily was confused and glanced to the other side of him to determine who this beautiful woman was. She just didn't think of herself that way. When the Sphinx realized he was speaking about her, she managed a quiet "oh," before feeling the color rise to her cheeks. "Oh," she said again, a little louder this time. "Do you always flirt with every woman you see?" It was a serious question, but she braced it with a smile. In fact, she didn't recall a time when the Goblin wasn't flirting.
An Unusual Feeling || Logan & Lily
Waving his hand through the air, he brushed aside her advice. “I’ll be fine in a few days. Don’t worry Doc, I’ll be good as new.” A playful grin tugged at his lips as he looked at her sideways. Watching her out of the edge of his eye allowed him the perfect view of her sticking her tongue out at him. It wasn’t a gesture that he would expect from the woman, judging from what little he knew about her. Laughter spilled into the air around them, the first genuine laughter he’d experienced in a good while. It was simply hilarious to him to see her so playful, and it gave him hope for the future. “Well forgive me, I believe that tends to happen when your patient actually has a pulse. If you’d like to retry you’re welcome to do so. Otherwise, I’ll go back to my own bandaging and thank you not to make fun of it.”
Of course he would be fine. They would all be fine...eventually. It wasn't so much his physical health that Lily was worried about. Talos, physically, was fine. Mentally...emotionally...those were different stories. As Logan laughed, Lily relaxed a little with a smile. It was good to hear laughter. It had been far too long. Rolling her eyes, the Sphinx tugged at the bandage, pulling it up into a better position. It still wasn't perfect, but at least he wouldn't have to worry about it sliding off. "There," she smiled, "good as new. Tell me, did you come here with a visible wound to try and play the sympathy card?" Giving him a wink, Lily signaled the bartender to order her drink.
Today's the Day ► Lily & Donovan
A quick lunch break, he’d told himself. Just a quick break from writing up the report that wraps up a case. The same report that he loathes writing every time a case gets solved or becomes cold. Moving from the inside of Little 5 Pizza outside, looking for a seat, he was taking a bite out of one of his pepperoni slices when a familiar voice made him turn around. Chewing quickly to greet her without his mouth full, he grinned. “Thank you. How’ve you been, Lily? It’s been a while.”
Lily was glad to see Donovan. It had been far too long by her estimation, and the human had certainly been missed. He was a friendly face in a cold city. Her own face lit up as the police officer agreed to join her. "Donovan! I've been well. What about yourself? It's has been awhile. Not much has changed for me, I'm afraid. Working day in and day out - as usual." She took a bite of her pizza, chewing carefully, before continuing her conversation. "And you? How have you been?"
Today's the Day ► Lily & Sawyer
The Leprechaun loved his pizza and he was beginning to think that Little 5 Pizza was going to be his go to place more often than not. He wasn’t much of a cook after all and who didn’t like a little slice of heaven to brighten up their day? It seemed he wasn’t the only one who carried that opinion today for every possible table was taken up, even outside in the front seating area. He had been about to shrug it off and simply head home with his meal when a voice spoke up offering him a seat. “Hey thanks!” He answered, plopping down opposite her and taking a quite bite of his pizza. Once he’d swallowed he nodded to her, “Sorry, I’m being rude. I’m Sawyer, I’ll be your table mate for the afternoon.”
Leprechauns were delightful creatures. Lily was fascinated with their species. She was logic and rationality, but Leprechauns were luck based creatures. Luck should have been based on probability, but for them it was strictly supernatural. It went against every scientific and mathematical theory she'd ever studied. Lily smiled as he apologized, but shook her head. "You don't have to apologize. I understand the call of a good pizza. Hello, Sawyer. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Lily. Have you been in town long?"
Today's the Day ► Lily & Megan
Megan had stopped by Little 5 Points Pizza with the intention of getting a quick lunch before returning to the shop to do some inventory. She’d let it get piled up the past few weeks and knew that she had to get it done sooner rather than later. As she paid for her slice of pizza and drink, she decided that it was an unusually warm day, at least considering the fickle weather they’d been having lately, and wanted to take advantage of it. Pushing open the door to the outside seating area, the Dryad scanned it for an open spot and sighed. She was about to just take her food back to work as the tables inside were also filled when she heard a familiar voice. She turned around and saw the Sphinx, Lily, sitting there. Megan smiled and titled her head, “Hey, are you sure? I don’t want to intrude.” She knew it was alright, though, and took the seat after a momentary internal debate. Sometimes she’d offer things out of politeness but figured that the woman meant it. She set her food on the table and smiled at Lily, “How are you doing, Lily? I haven’t seen you in a while.” As she spoke, Megan took a napkin from the dispenser and dabbed it on the pizza, absorbing a good amount of the excess grease. “This is random, but does anyone ever call you Lil? Or are do you prefer Lily? Sorry, I just thought of that.” She smiled at the Sphinx, realizing she was talking a bit much. That’s what happens you don’t talk to people for a while. Megan hoped that she wasn’t annoying Lily right then, she had, after all, given up part of her table for her.
"Hello, Megan," the Sphinx said warmly as she poked at her own rapidly cooling pizza. It just wasn't as good when it was cold. Lily wondered absently if they had a microwave inside. "I'm doing well," she said, honestly. Talos was home, life was returning to normal, and Mythics were getting their rights... she had very little right to ask for anything else. Lily had just opened her mouth to speak again when Megan asked her question. She found herself shaking her head before the question finished rolling off the woman's tongue. "Ummm, no. No one has ever called me that. I prefer Lily...it's more...I don't know how to explain it. What about you? Are you a Meg? Or strictly a Megan?"
Today's the Day ► Lily & Annabeth
Business was surprisingly good and Anna had to help out in the shop a lot more than she had anticipated. If things kept going like this she would need to hire another cashier. But for now she would need to do things herself. Business was slowing down as lunch time rolled around and after Cherry had been on her break she too decided to grab something to eat before things picked back up again. She left Cherry in charge and walked over to that little pizza place she had seen a few days ago. It was packed, everyone seemed in the mood for pizza on this fine day. She felt the tingle of another mythic, one she couldn’t identify, and turned that way to check if it might be someone Bishop had sent after her when the woman addressed her. She smiled at the woman, she seemed harmless enough and sat down in a free chair. “Thank you,” she said warmly. “That’s very kind of you. You really don’t mind? I wouldn’t want to be a bother.”
Lily waved the woman off, indicating that she was no bother. In fact, it was refreshing to have someone else at her table. Eating lunch alone always felt so...strange. She always felt as if people were judging her for being alone. "Please," she said, gesturing at the seat once more. "I do not mind at all." The Sphix bit into her pizza, chewing carefully before realizing she had been rude. "Oh, I'm so sorry." She wiped her hands on a napkin and then held one out for the woman to shake. "I'm Lily. Are you new in town?"
