Outings are a part of a childâs education and at certain times throughout the year the children will be taken on day trips to help advance their awareness of life outside of Limehouse Day Nursery. Parents will be notified of outings well in advance. Children may be asked to bring specialist clothes or equipment, like wellies for a trip to a farm. There may be a small fee to pay towards the trip. Limehouse Day Nursery provides packed lunches and refreshments.

The daily experience of children in early years settings and the overall quality of provision depends on all practitioners having appropriate qualifications, training, skills and knowledge and a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
All staff receive induction training to help them understand their roles and responsibilities in Limehouse Day Nursery. Induction training includes information about emergency evacuation procedures, safeguarding, child protection, our equality policy, and health and safety issues. Limehouse Day Nursery supports staff to undertake appropriate training and continuous professional development opportunities to ensure they offer quality learning and development experiences for children, that continually improve.

May our kids never go hungry again :)
Limehouse Day Nursery promotes the good health of the children in our care. We have established procedures, discussed with parents, for responding to children who are ill or may be infectious. We take all the necessary steps to prevent the spread of infection, and take appropriate action if children are ill.
E.gÂ
Paediatric First Aid Training
Paediatric First Aid training relevant for workers caring for babies and young children is organised with a recognised training provider and regularly updated every 3 years. There is always a Paediatric First Aider able to rapidly respond to emergencies in any area of Limehouse Day Nursery and on outings. At least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate is on the premises and available at all times, and accompanies children on outings.
Limehouse Day Nursery chooses which organisation they wish to provide the training (preferably one with a nationally approved and accredited first aid qualification or one that is a member of a trade body with an approval and monitoring scheme) but the training must cover the course content as for St John Ambulance or Red Cross paediatric first aid training and be renewed every three years.
At Limehouse Day Nursery childrenâs behaviour is managed in an appropriate way. We recognise the need to set reasonable and appropriate limits that all adults will maintain in the management of childrenâs behaviour. We do not administer physical punishment or punishment that causes pain or humiliation to a child. We do not use or threaten to use any punishment which could adversely affect a childâs wellbeing. We do not ever give corporal punishment or threaten to give corporal punishment to a child. At Limehouse Day Nursery we recognise the importance of adults behaviour as a role model for the children and will not allow physical or verbal abuse towards anyone on the premises. Occasionally physical intervention is necessary to avoid harm. Any occasion where physical intervention is used, will be recorded and parents are informed at the earliest opportunity.
What the Ofsted Report of 22/10/2013 said about the quality and standards of the early years provision at Limehouse Day Nursery
Limehouse Day Nursery provision is good
âStaff provide a stimulating, vibrant outdoor space for children and children have many good opportunities to learn outside.
Staff work effectively with parents and outside agencies to meet the individual needs of children.
Children enjoy the nutritious meals and drinks and learn about the importance of  healthy eating.
Staff have caring, affectionate relationships with children; as a result children are happy and settled at the nursery.â
Limehouse Day Nursery âis not yet outstanding becauseâ:-
âStaff have not considered ways to inform parents of how they can share learning at home, to support their childâs learning further.â
Limehouse Day Nursery intend to become outstanding and are informing parents of how they can share learning at home, in many different ways. Parents have access to information, books and activity sheets that reflect what their child is experiencing and learning at Limehouse Day Nursery.
