In lto Tenna has some banger outfits (besides his signature looks). What is you process in making his wardrobe?

Also does the various colours of Spamtons suits have special meanings behind them?

His event suit is just his main colors and a bowtie instead of a tie. that helps him be recognizable even if his signature suit hasnt shown up yet. His "party" suit is a purple sparkly blazer because it matches his tv frame glasses and the shirt is a 70s floral pattern (mostly pink because he is feeling charmed) with a happy flower corsage instead of a nose flower.

His little drive outfit is also just his main colors mixed around but i thought he would look cute in suspenders and some kind of custom pants with stars. The date outfit is a white suit to contrast the black blazer spamton wears and the gold silk shirt just seems like something he would wear on a date, purple tie to match his glasses again. Typically i try to go for something thats kinda stylish but still falling within business casual. hes always thinking about work, and trying to look the part of a businessman. His main outfit throughout the story is his most shown outfit because he is meant to be static and unchanging for the most part.

Spamtons suits DO have special meanings. Theyre inspired by Saul Goodman's rotating suit collection, but i give a bit of thought to each suit he wears and when he wears it. hes meant to be constantly changing in contrast to Tenna.

The black blazer and a mix of pink and yellow are just meant to be recognizable as his canon puppet colors, but i also think that hes performing the best when hes wearing the black blazer. or at least things go in his favor, as if hes on his A-game.

the horrible green suit... just plain greedy. this suit shows up when hes acting his most obnoxious. this was inspired by The Long Game where spamton wears horrible green a lot.

these dont make more than one appearance, but the white suit was inspired by nick from L4D2! thats about it haha. the purple suit could be interpreted a few ways. purple is the color of royalty, hes pitching his plan to the king on his directors chair throne. hes also laying out the future of tv time, which is doomed no matter what, and so is he. purple is the opposite of yellow, opposite of success is doom. the purple suit was also picked out by my friend @ mynnthia!

Spamton loses his blazers for a solid chunk of the chapters because he looks smaller and less powerful without them. In scenes where he just has his shirt and tie he's lost some or all of the pull he has in the situation, or hes simply being slightly more vulnerable/exposed. theres even more examples of this but i only have so many slots

Spamton FINALLY wears red on the day he gets to act in the sweepstakes thus formally kicking off his on-screen partnership with Tenna. He's joined the ranks and hes working WITH Tenna instead of being somewhat at odds. He stays in yellow or red for pretty much the rest of the comic because they've become a proper pair / hes taken on Tenna's colors.

He wore those colors again here knowing those are probably Tenna's favorites to try to get extra points with him and get that promotion. that black blazer is also back! And then its gone! hehe

We've learned about Spamton's living situation but will we ever get to see/do you have any ideas about Tenna's actual home? Is it extremely egotistical huge and sparkly celebrity home or is it impersonal since he cares more about the studio than his own space?

Ive thought about this for some time, Tenna has a home with many rooms and lots of memerobelia of his show, similar to his office, thats conveniently located not too far from the studio, which means its still pretty far away from Hometown and Cyber City. He has a large garage, a pool, big kitchen, several places to hang out. He has lots of rooms for guests and is ready to host, but nobody ever comes to visit.

What’s the percentage of the next chapter

i got an eye injury last week so i havent been able to work on it, im recovering slowly but i still cant work on it like i would like to, id appreciate no more update questions.

Neo is a thing in your AU, and the modern era Spam has his standard pink and yellow glasses. Is this because he tried to disguise himself as Swatch to break into the mansion, or is there another explanation? Or is it just one of life’s great mysteries?

He did try to impersonate swatch at one point, and after that he was given the ankle monitor that goes off when he gets within x feet of the mansion. He did find the glasses in the trash, so thats also one of lifes great mysteries

Does Tenna start thinking about his own gender stuff once he’s unemployed?

I think he never really thinks about it as his view on gender was never that strict. He doesnt need to attach himself to a label, and once he learned about new labels he thought "oh Thats what theyre calling it now! Fun!" But no real further exploration. Hes been content for a while already

Actually i never thought of him with facial hair before LOL i think thats partially why. he thinks he wants to look "clean shaven and professional" which seems like it comes from the addisons/his family. They strike me as highly concerned with appearences. But i also see him not being able to grow facial hair that looks good, or he thought it wouldnt look good with his round jaw, and to top it all off probably does want to look a little androgynous but doesnt fully get why

I'm curious to know if tenna has ever done anything like this before with a coworker/underling?...like, is it a dynamic that plays out often for him. He definitely acts like he's used getting what he wants lol. and seems to take to it w ease especially compared to spam.

I dont think hes actually met someone who works for him that he had feelings for. Theyre all too unimportant or too deferential. I think the people who hes dated in the past have been people he considers peers but were either too unavailable or HE was too unavailable, his first priority always being work.

Do spamton's acquaintances like Queen, Swatch, Tenna, and other chapter three characters recognize him in the future. Or does he appear to them as a random stranger like in the game interaction between him and Tenna.

They would all recognize him given enough time l, but the degree to how much each of them acknowledges him varies, due to how mad each of them are at him or how sad he makes them feel.

Swatch has seen him more often than the others and believes that hes been copying his style to try to get into the mansion, so he already recognizes him. Queen has seen him around and pretends not to notice. She was mad at him but I think shes kind of neutral.

I don't think Tenna actually recognized him at the height of his breakdown (the impossibility of him just showing up out of the blue put the thought out of his mind completely) but if they did get to talk again he probably would.

Did spamton and tenna ever reach a point where they could openly acknowledge the depth of their relationship/feelings for the other or did they (or rather spamton) always keep a degree of the mental gymnastics seen in early stage of their relationship. They both strike me as being emotionally wired too weird to say "I love you" outright in a serious context... Or am I wrong..

I think to me that is the crux of their relationship: the feelings were there, but before anything was fully actualized, something went wrong. Neither of them ever fully told the truth, and in my AU i made sure that they didnt have enough time spent together that they could have said everything either. Thats why theyre so angry with each other years later, there was room for doubt and it persuaded both of them to turn it against each other, to make believe that the other one was out to get them the whole time. Even then, theyre both kinda right. At some point they both had the goal of screwing the other over for personal gain, and that was pretty obvious, but the genuine love was there too, they just didnt want to talk about it, and now here we are.

i think a whole page from start to finish would probably take half a day to a day to line an color, depending how complex it were. i separate sketching line and color into different stages usually, sketching everything first, then lining a chapter, then going back and coloring everything. certain pages that i feel Need color to get the mood right i line and then color immediately.

Did Tenna actually fall first or did he just seem like it because he is more open? Who fell harder?

tenna started to become attatched sooner and even recognized he was kinda into the mailman earlier, so he had a head start

but i think spamton fell harder of the two when HE realized he had gotten tennas attention and was being treated more like an equal for a change. I dont think he was even aware that tenna liked him genuinely until the little dinner date

is there a reason why spamton didn't want to kiss and hug tenna when he agreed to do.. good business with him?

He didnt want to kiss too much for fear of it becoming romantic or too intimate because hes written closeted and he proposed it being a one time thing for this reason as well.

Clearly, something changed and it turned into an ongoing thing pretty rapidly, in part because of the fact that Tenna went along with his denial and reframed it as "business" instead of a more serious relationship. Then while theyre both pretending its nothing serious, deeper feelings develop.

You could also interpret his "deal" with the phone influencing his desire to keep an emotional distance with people, since it seems like he needed to distinguish that it was "business" and not "friends" in the dream. I dont think that drives his fear of intimacy, but i think it kinda reinforces it if you consider that as well.

In one of the montages there is a biblically accurate big shot spamton and tenna in the corners. In the universe of lto what are those? My best guess was cartoon mascots

Yes tenna has a small animation team at the studio (the ribbicks) but they only do animated shorts that air on the channel for special times of the year. The mascot (darkner) tenna merch in his office are from this little show. Other times of the year the ribbicks do work on the sets or other practical effects

which spamton era is your favorite to draw/write im curious…. dumb blondie, doughboy, after surgery chopped, old puppet or drag neo

Old puppet is my favorite but his dialogue is more effort sometimes only for the quirk, doughboy is fun and funny, drag neo and bigshot are a looot of fun because theyre both scary stage personas but either too depressing or too short lived to enjoy for longer. Like a beautiful flower that only blooms for 1 hour a day. I hate that little blonde thing but hes really funny still
