In one of a kind exhibition in Beirut, Esma’/Listen was inaugurated yesterday at Beirut Art Center featuring 16 artists and composers from Beirut and around the world that develop concepts and techniques of contemporary listening. Curated by Marcella Lista and Marie Muracciole, the exhibition translates different sounds into visual waves, senses and movements, giving the audience an extraordinary experience beyond the traditional listening.

The idea of creating this blog came to me after I found this quiet playground in Russell Square that it also happened to be unoccupied by children that day...thank you rain. I was visiting a friend of mine and a few hours later I found myself sitting on this swing outside her house. I closed my eyes for five seconds for the rain and my thoughts asked me so, so they could hug each peacefully. And I did. Then of course I had to disturb that peace and multitask as usual by reading McBride’s A Girl Is a Half-formed Thing, observing walking strangers and texting my friends. My writing buddy and best friend suggested to co-write with her again using Death as our new writing subject. How typical! My short story’s premise was that I will die 14 times. I will be sharing some parts of the story whenever I get the time and inspiration to do so.
