Can’t handle the weight or the truth of words?
Then don’t touch them.
I tell you something you said hurt, and already I know how the answer will sound.
Of course you say ,,it’s not all about you”, softly, like a rule I should have learned by now.
But I won’t.
So I nod. I swallow the rest of the sentence. I make my feelings smaller until they fit the space you’re willing to give.
I wasn’t asking for much— just a pause, just a moment where my honesty didn’t feel like a burden or like something I did wrong.
But true apologies never come, only explanations, only the reminder that caring too openly is something I do wrong, that being hurt is not as valid.
So I stop reaching. Not angrily. Not to punish you. Just tired.
Somewhere along the way I learn this: being understood by you isn’t something I can earn by being gentler, or quieter, or less myself.
And that’s when I let it rest— not because it didn’t matter, but because I finally see that it mattered only to me.
I’m leaving this behind without weight or return.

P.S.
You can mock this, laugh at it, call me dramatic, or stripping me of my feelings and thinking I have an ego problem or even call me crazy if you want, but you never knew me anyway, might be mutual. I won’t let you invalidate me about how I express or love ever again. — my leaving doesn’t require your understanding.
@juno-swiftie I love you and you know that ♥️
