configure TP- LINK Range Extender on MAC
You have bought a TP- LINK Range Extender but now you are confuse about how to configure it. To configure your TP-Link range extender is not a big deal. You can do it by yourself without taking help from anyone. Read the instructions carefully which we have mentioned in this blog and then apply them.
Step 1: How to collect information for root router tp link access point login
Get all the basic information of your root router before starting its configuration. Take an example
Encryption Type: WPA2-PSK with AES
Passphrase: testyourtplink
Step 2: Assigning static IP address on MAC computer
Give a static IP address to your MAC computer or laptop. Now connect your computer with the help of Ethernet cable to the range extender and turn off the airport from root router.
Now assign a manual IP address 192.168.1.x on the computer to match it with the default IP address of range extender as DHCP function is disabled by default on the range extender
1. Click on apple menu an select the system preferences.
2. On System Preferences screen, check for Network and click on the Internet & Wireless.
3. Under the Network Screen, Select Ethernet, now click on "Manually", and fill the IP address (192.168.0.98), Subnet mask (255.255.255.9), and then click on "Apply".
Step 3: Configuration on your Range Extender
1. To sign in the range Extender's management page.
Open your browser, type the default IP of you LAN (https://192.168.1.259), fill default username and password as "admin" in both fields and click on "Sign in".
To avoid the IP conflict, make sure that your Range Extender's IP address is in the same IP segment with the Root Router. Here we can change the TL-WA830RE’s IP to "192.168.1.250", and then click on "save".
