"actual racism" does not start at a civil or criminal level, it stems from and thrives in something as small as dismissive language. please try to use "poc" correctly, it is not that hard to adjust your vocabulary for one word.
to clarify the last ask: is it possible that these empty blogs and anons are other people coming out of the woodwork to support L? sure. but I do think it's suspicious that as soon as people point out how obvious it is that they are the same person, suddenly tmvp gets supporters, despite L going off the rails with her racism and transmispgyny. if they're not her, it's terfs trying to legitimize her blog. hence the terf in astroterfing.

A good part of the tumblr userbase understands that rape jokes are bad, they understand that using “rape” and “rapist” as “funny quirky meme words” is fucked up and bad.
But at the same time we’ve reached a weird paradigm where a lot of people who understand that consider “war crime” and “war criminal” to be Funny Quirky Meme Words without realizing that war crimes very much includes rape!! It very much includes rape of all kinds in all kinds of scales!
It includes doing the most heinous things against children, it includes a wide range of the most heinous things. Just read the definition of war crime.
Why is it that you think that rape jokes are unacceptable but war crimes jokes are funny and cute and harmless?
Isn’t it trivializing of actual war crimes the amount of people in this site who now have the immediate reaction on their brain to thing of “war crime” as Funny Meme like a Pavlovian response?
Is it too weird that I think that this is fucked up?
I just wanna say, when I originally wrote this post I remember wondering if maybe the reason why people have different reactions to rape jokes and war crimes jokes had to do with people being largely ignorant about what war crimes entail.
Now it has gotten increasingly clear to me that it has less to do with ignorance and everything to do with people not thinking of war crimes as something “real” the same way they think of rape. Rape is something that can happen to them, within their communities. War crimes on the other hand are something that happens to other people, to other countries, therefore they don’t even register it as “real”. People treat it as some sort of imaginary concept because the victims don’t even register as real to them.

the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.
btw this is maybe the single most key distinguishing feature of the terfy strains of radical feminism, the seed all the rest of it springs out of: they have absolutely no faith in the ability of feminism to actually destroy patriarchy. they do not think feminism can truly build a better world. they cannot really even imagine that possibility. they think patriarchy is an inevitable natural consequence of unchangeable biological facts, and therefore the goal of feminism can only be to mitigate the worst effects of patriarchy, not to get rid of it.
they can imagine a society where women get some designated safe spaces without men around. they cannot imagine a society where the presence of men is not inherently a danger to women.
one type of closet is intelligible. that's the closet where someone denies their identity and doesn't act in accordance with how they'd like.
but there's another closet. there's the closet where on paper you're out and you're proud and maybe this is even a huge part of your identity--but you fear acting the way you'd like so much that you refuse it. this type of closet is used by the trans person who wants hrt or to wear clothing that would fit their gender or another act of transition, but fears it so much that they never allow themselves to do so. this closet is used by the out LGB person who fears so much being called a fag or a dyke that they refuse to dress how they want or engage in any intimacy--including friendship--with other gays.
this second kind of closet is common now. while straight society has the pretense of acceptance for LGBTQ people, it doesn't have acceptance for living LGBTQ lives. therefore, someone can be out, but never act like it.
if part of the point of pride is to force LGBTQ lives out into the open, then part of it must be practice for living the lives we want to live as LGBTQ people. you can't just wake up one day and decide to act in accordance with what you desire--you have to work at it. pride is a political space designed to allow LGBTQ futures--much like the riot is a space to taste the world to come, one without prisons, pigs, and capitalism.
