hi lovelies! ♥

i’m here to say that it’s been a really confusing year for most of us, too short and too long at the same time. i know most people have struggled in one way or another and i know we’re all hoping for a better and safer future.

that being said, a lot of us have always found a sort of home here, on tumblr, where we can escape just a little and immerse ourselves in what we love.

no matter if it’s media, art, literature or literally anything else, tumblr is like a shared journal, where you can find like-minded people and enjoy your interests without the pressure other social media platforms bring

so, whether you left and only ever come back just to look something up your blog, or you come and go as the mood fits, or you never really left, it’s nice to have a place like this and a connection to other people, some whom are miles and miles away

and because of this i’ve decided to do a mutual appreciation post and let you all know that whether we talked or not, i appreciate y’all very much.

i love seeing you on my dash when i’m here and it’s honestly an honor that many of you have stayed mutuals with me for so long

“Tuesday my therapist asks me if he can read my poetry, I tell him no. He asks if I’d let him buy my book if I made one, I say yes. Friday night I am more honest with a room full of over 100 strangers than I ever have been in front of a mental health professional. My parents want to know why I don’t let them come to school events or any of my performances. My friends want to know why I don’t invite them over. It’s easier to be public with my suicide attempts and hospitalizations in front of a room full of strangers than it is to let my closest friends see how messy my room looks like. The people I live with never see what I create and the people who see what I create will never know what it’s like to live with me. I don’t know how to explain that I have who I am as a person, then I have who I am on a page. When a person finds out too much of me, I feel who I was and who I want to be colliding, ideal world meets reality, everything explodes. It feels wrong, like someone you don’t like breathing onto your neck, and you can feel the sweat, and the panic. I am realizing that it’s okay that I need to keep part of me hidden away in order to feel whole.”
