I’m seeing a lot of people saying this post changed their brain chemistry, and as a neuroscientist I wanted to say yes!!! Yes it does!
Wanting something requires dopamine signaling, but liking something doesn’t.
If you have a mental illness/disorder that affects dopamine, you might feel that you don’t want to do the things that you like. You do still like them. You will appreciate having done them.

Years ago I participated fairly regularly in a weekly art prompt online, and it was a great experience. A weekly challenge was exactly the right frequency to keep my creative juices flowing without bringing me to burnout. Unfortunately, that group hasn't been active for some time, and—while there are plenty of wonderful daily and monthly challenges—I have not had much luck finding anyone else doing art prompts on a weekly basis. I have also accumulated a lot of ideas for different types of art prompts that excite and inspire me during that time. In other words, Your Weekly Art Challenge is a definite case of "I want this thing to exist, so I guess I'm going to make it." So if any of this is appealing to you, I'd love to have you along for the ride! Let's make some art together!
