@little-renders
slowly growing a garden.
experimenting with animating camera position and using environments with fog in cinema 4D. excited about this one...
learned how to model leaves with beziers in intro to c4d for designers.
I think it’s definitely one of the best courses I’ve ever taken!! Join the waitlist to hear when registration opens again here.
I wonder if there is a way to introduce some randomness for the points, as I’d love to model different philodendron leaves that have a bit more variation in shape. I couldn’t find anything to do that and was hoping that I wouldn’t have to model each leaf individually...
made with processing.
the ofApp that generated the stills from the previous post, where I was learning to use ofxGui addon for future projects
made these today with openFrameworks :)
a little behind on c4d for designers but really really loved these lettering lessons!
I modeled an aloe plant with the help of this tutorial [link]. Super useful for understanding how to work with matrix extrude (for the initial leaf shape), working with splines and spline wraps, and hair tags (the spline dynamics, specifically). I also followed some of the tips and tricks for creating the splotchy pattern for the aloe leaves, made with noise.
I had applied the same tricks to make a wood grain material for the plant stand (which I modeled myself, based on a planter I have in my apartment, using some basic cylinders and cube geometry and some symmetry objects), but then c4d crashed and I hadn’t saved since the last hour (my mistake sigh). Anyway, I thought this screen grab I got was good enough, though I would have liked to have an animated .gif (some animation is given with the hair/spline dynamics). Maybe I’ll revisit sometime... or make more plants at least :)
back to basic shapes, testing color and texture
quick thing I made in processing. proved to myself that i’m a bit rusty but I did this mostly without help, so that’s good!
trying out new things on my own today. I have no idea what i’m doing 🙃
I have to remember that I told myself I’d post whatever I was working on even if I wasn’t happy with it, at least to show myself that I learned something and that over time I’m making progress. I don’t really like these! If I had a bit more tiem today I’d add some leaves... but anyway, some flowers ahead of valentine’s. or rolled ice cream, as my parter called it.
