Lucius: Where's your brother, Alecto?
Alecto: We just stepped out of the shower. He'll be down in a minute.
Lucius: Alright li--listen, you guys can't go... did you just say we?
Alecto: What?
Lucius: Did you just say "we just stepped out of the shower"?
Alecto: I said "he."

After Hours || 1
The night had drawn to a close as it usually did, Alecto joking with the last of the customers in the pub, making sure they would get home without too much hassle of themselves and the rest of the public. 3am in London was never kind to stragglers, and night had taken its hold. Anyone out for too long, drunk no less, was bound to be in some trouble. âAlecto, love! Still here?âAlexander and William were strolling out of the back room, followed closely by the older men, Lucius and Rodolphus with heads bent close in the back, eyeing someone unfamiliar to her as Alex and Will swung up onto stools and leaned across the bar to tease her. She poured them both a drink and slid them across the counter with a sly smile, âItâs my familyâs pub, boys, why wouldnât I be?â They merely grinned broadly and swiped the drinks back, calling over their shoulders at Zabini where heâd pulled the unfamiliar man aside and was speaking harshly to him. âOi, Alec, let Finn loose and câmere, would you?â The darker man scowled in their direction but released his grip on the younger manâs shoulder and allowed him to join the younger boys at the counter. Alecto eyed him where she continued to clean up but as he said nothing, poured him a small glass of whiskey and set it down in front of him. âThat ought to do something for ye, eh, Finn?â Alex clapped him on the back with a laugh before sliding his own empty glass back to Alecto and swinging down from his seat, a little more unsteady than before but altogether better off than most of the men Alecto saw go off into the night. âRiddle was on a bit of a roll, tonight,â Amycusâ sudden appearance at her shoulder made her jump, accepting his hand where it curved on her shoulder, following his gaze to the scruff of a man she had never even heard of, suddenly dropping into their midst and laughing with Will over their drinks while Lucius lingered beside them in silence. âThat he was, Carrow, but for good reason,â He chipped in, waving Alecto away when she pulled out a glass for him, âSave it, youâve done enough washing of glasses tonight to last yourself months,â He gave her a strained smile and pushed away from the counter, hands going to the other twoâs collars and pulling them with him. âCome on, you drunks, youâve already overstayed your welcome with the Carrows,â His hand squeezing her shoulder for a minute before she watched Amycus stretch luxuriously across the counter and snatch Finn by the sleeve, hauling all three of them to a stop with one meager pull. âI did invite Finn and Will to stay a bit after the meeting, help Finn become a bit more accustomed to London,â Lucius gave him a hard look but released one boy, âBurke has some priorities to attend to,â He growled, yanking on the young man pointedly, âBe sure to keep Rowle out of too much trouble.â âOh of course,â Amycus purred, still stretched on the counter with his hand latched on Finnâs sleeve, âWouldnât dream of trouble,â But by the look he cast back at Alecto, she could see it was only trouble that was on his mind.
âIf you donât shut up, I will personally stab you in the eye with a spork.â
âA spork?â Alecto repeated incredulously from her seat down the table. Her plate of food was untouched while Amycus ate ravenously beside her, barely hearing what was going on as he hadnât eaten since dinner the previous night and had been on his feet since the sky lightened that morning. Alecto had been trying to get him to come up for air and explain some part of his day when Fiona had snapped at her, and she couldnât help the offended pout that formed on her lips. âHonestly, whatâs gotten into you these past few days?â She asked, scooting back her chair and preparing to stand up should Fiona, hands clasping the table to hide their shaking. Fiona did stand, almost as if on cue, her face a little flushed from anger, âHeâs trying to eat, he doesnât need you to be breathing down his neck about something he probably doesnât even want to talk about!â Amycus did look up at this, wiping his mouth with the napkin in his lap and looking over at Vee for some kind of help. Everyone knew Alectoâs battering at Amycus wasnât the true reason for her sudden outburst but the first thing she could use to cover it, nevertheless Amycus wasnât a fan of being dragged into the middle of a spat, he just wanted to eat his dinner.Â
âIf thatâs how he feels, he can certainly speak for himself,â Alecto answered quietly, rising from her own chair, still having to tilt her chin up to look Fiona in the eye as the other girl advanced, âWhatâs actually wrong?âÂ
Fiona was silent for a long moment, barely meeting Alectoâs stony gaze before she finally lunged for her plate and turned her back on the three of them, spat out âYouâre wasting food.â And marched from the dining room.

My muse is dead, and your muse is visiting their grave 3 years later. My muse walks up behind yours and says "I'm sorry". How does your muse react?
send one for my muse's reaction;
âWhat are you doing here?â
âOf course I moved on!â
âI canât wait for you.â
âWhy didnât you wait for me?â
âArenât sunrises a little cliche?â
âAs long as it doesnât require me pants, Iâm in.â
âItâs your time to shine.â
âAnd weâre sure thatâs not illegal?â
âAnd if I say yes?â
âDude, what the hell?â
âWait, since when are you gay?â
âWhat the hell did I miss?â
âI was gone for for five minutes!â
âShe/heâs been my bed for the last twenty four hours, and I canât remember their name. Think it would be rude to ask for it again?â
âI donât see anything wrong with a shotgun Vegas wedding.â
âIf you donât shut up, I will personally stab you in the eye with a spork.â
âIs that really your version of an apology?â
âI hope you step on a lego every day for the rest of your life.â
âNow thatâs just stupid.â
âIâm prepared, I think.â
âWe finally got it right.â
âI choose you. No one else. You.â
âI gave up a long time ago.â
âIn what world was that okay?â
âThis is not a bad vampire romance novel, please shut up with the dramatics.â
âKinda wanna have sex, but also kinda wanna eat pizza.â
âWe could always just run away.â
âIâm dying. Howâs that for a dinner conversation starter?â
âPlease stop asking me out.â
âLove is a fairytale told to children.â
âThat wasnât me.â
âI didnât do it!â
âThat may have been my fault.â
âIs this your first date?â
âYouâre the biggest wimp.â
âYouâre pretty shy.â
âAre you trying to hold my hand?â
âLet me sleep.â
âThereâs no way that Iâll say no.â
âI donât want to get up.â
âWhy donât you love me?â
âI donât want to live in a world without you.â
âThereâs a fire inside of you.â
âI donât think I can do this anymore.â
âOh good. Just what I needed to hear.â
âTonight as perfect.â
âItâs just for the night!â
âI didnât steal it. I borrowed it. Possibly for a long time.â
âIt hurts.â
âWe could go backpacking?â
âWhat do you mean you want to go home?â
âYou donât know me!â
âI skipped class today.â
âI bought you a ring even.â
âYou bought me flowers?â
âWhat are you doing home so late?â
âSorry Iâm not what you expected.â
âI burned my tongue.â
âWhat a fake smile.â
âDid you just laugh at me?â
âI can do it!â
"I'm such a mess, why do you even like me?"
"Stop defending me!"
"I won't change who I am, I can't. But I refuse to change you."
"Take me home, I'd rather die than be with you."
"Is this really happening?"
"As long as you're here with me, I know I'll be okay."
"There you go again, pretending you don't care."
"I feel, okay? And it sucks!"
"No, it was my fault for thinking that you might care."
"Yes it's tempting ... but it's a mistake."
"And every time I look at you, it hurts."
"I really don't like feelings."
"Is that what you're doing? Trying to make me hate you?"
"You think that you don't deserve something ... so you ruin it."
"Maybe I missed you."
"If you're gonna be bad, be bad with purpose."
"Because I love you, because you love me."
"It came to me in a dream, I was naked ... you would have loved it."
"Everything that I like about me ... is you."
"I just said I'm not sorry."
"I loved you through everything and you don't even care!"
"Because love is the best thing we do."
"Don't hold your breath, I'm not losing sleep over you."
"It's the things we love most that destroy us."
Gone
** Â ** **
"What?" There was little satisfaction in seeing Mulciber, of all people, flinch at the angry hiss in her tone. "What do you mean, she's gone?" Alecto's head whipped around the room like she might be able to locate her despite Mulciber's words. It wasn't a small room, that was clear, and the constant murmur of people shuffling about outside the little alcove Mulciber had dragged her to in order to talk privately.Â
"She was supposed to arrive an hour ago," Mulciber said, his large hand wrapping around her arm to keep her in place, fingers digging into her mark and making her wince, "I sent Tripe and Burke out to check her usual spots, checked your place, all over the fucking city," His grip tightened and she unsuccessfully tried to yank away, only to be pulled closer, his breath ruffling her hair as his own desperation to find Fiona radiated over her. "She's gone, Alecto, right before the last coup of the year." As if she didn't understand the severity of the situation, he shook her again, his other hand clasping onto her shoulder.Â
"Well we have to find her," Alecto finally wriggled free of him, barely able to stop from baring her teeth at him. "I'll find her," She turned and started out back into the party, brushing off Octavia's question. She didn't want help. She wanted to find her on her own. Alecto needed to know that of all the people, she would be the one she would come back to, that she was the person who kept her holding on.Â
As Mulciber followed after her, reaching for her arm, she apparated out with a crack. Landing just outside the Carrow grounds and angrily pulling her heels off her feet as they sank in the grass, Alecto stalked up to the door and yanked it open, ignoring the House Elves as they scrambled to assist her and tell her that Tripe and Burke had visited and made a mess of things.Â
The elves refused to settle until she stopped walking, and by the time she reached the staircase there were eight of them scurrying after her in a panic.Â
"Alright," She turned and sat down on the bottom step to be at eye height with them, "What? I know that Tripe and Burke were here-" she stopped as one of the taller elves, Ezra, pushed his way through, holding a folded piece of parchment.Â
"Miss Rowle left this on the banister, those brutes knocked it off when they burst in here," Ezra handed her the parchment and turned to usher the other elves away while they cried out in protest, all wanting to add their own pieces of information though it had already been said. Alecto waited until they were gone before flipping the parchment open and read its contents.Â
Some people just aren't cut out for lying forever.                       Fiona Rowle
