The last couple weeks were bumpy, Sun’s probably still sour about it. You can’t really tell him that though, that’ll make things worse. Moon probably… you don’t want to assume though… maybe he hates you just as much as Sun does. Well, maybe not hate, Sun doesn’t hate you he just dislikes you; he is… mildly annoyed by you. Bothered by your presence. Yeah, that’s it. You bother them. But wait that sounds weird. It presents you as bothersome. You aren’t bothersome. Probably. Anyway, acquaintances. Yeah, that sounds about right…
Hey, it’s really damn cold out here!
Your taxi isn’t coming, is it? You can almost feel it in your skin. Well, what now? You are certainly not walking back in this weather.
You feel a horrible itching in your nose and your eyes sort of water. You try to hold it back, but you sneeze.
You grip your bag tighter. You refuse to look back at the building behind you. A gush of wind ravages your hair and tosses it about and you begin to wish you had picked a jacket with a hood to wear this morning. Why did it have to be so cold?
Crouching on the brick pavement, a painfully audible pop derives from one of your your knees. Geez, you can’t be that old. You sling your bag in front of you and fish out your phone. You try to open the old thing but all it displays for you is the infamous battery depleted icon. Perfect, just what you needed!
You zip your bag back up as you stand. What now? You sneeze into your elbow. You certainly can’t stay here.
The PizzaPlex is right behind you. It wouldn’t be the first time you had a little sleepover and you know for a fact that there are still employees in the building.
Rubbing your undoubtedly red nose you circle back to the employee entrance.
There’s a car here. You hope it’s Vanessa. She could drive you home after all.
When a shrub of brown hair comes out of the building, you sigh. It is not Vanessa. Why would it be, anyway? She’s a night guard, her shift starts at midnight. It’s barely 10 p.m. !
Your knees are starting to hurt from all this standing.
With an exasperated groan you reach for the handle, but before you open it someone opens the door and barely spares you a glance before rushing out.
Face red, you enter the PizzaPlex once more. Embarrassed, tired, sick probably and really damn cold.
…Where do they keep those daycare candies?
