I try to write or start something here at least twice a week, but my brain is a fickle bastard so please bear with me.

Character Naming Experiences:

They just...came with this name, I don’t know??? They were always called this?? The name has been inextricable from the concept of them from day one?

“I will name my character something stupid as a placeholder,” I said, “I can change it later,” I said. It has been five years. It’s stuck now.

“Fuck it. I’m going to name them something stupid too, this time on purpose so the other character with the stupid name is less obvious.”

This word or these syllables have gotten stuck permanently in my head and I can’t get rid of it.

This word or syllables sounded good so I put it in my list of character names and randomly assigned it to a character 3 years later when I was desperate for a character name

I decided I would name a character this when I was like 13, and well, fuck it, today is the day.

I had a nickname and thought of a range of full names that could be the long version of the nickname, and picked my favorite.

Frantically texted friend, “what do I name him”

I’ve changed this character’s name between similar things multiple times and now I can’t remember what it’s supposed to be. Fuck.

This character still doesn’t have a name. I’ve tried. Everything I do is wrong. Help

Life in prosperity?

Distant from the fires of war, a group of islands on the sea of Seikan Bleu stood manors belonging to a noble family torn apart by the atrocities of the conflagration. The family has used the islands to be a safe haven for anyone affected by the fight, humans and Hemmlings alike to live on the island in harmony hoping that the pointless fight ceases.

The matron of the manor, Lady Annise Ponce whose husband was part of the king’s court serving as an advisor and is now on the battlefield beyond the Seikan Bleu still serving the king despite his apprehension towards pointless strife.

The Islands were the last gift Lord Ponce gave to his wife before she fled with the others who wanted refuge, now on her umpteenth day of waiting for news from the mainland to arrive, she stood at the pier for the monthly boat that brings supplies for the manor to arrive hoping she could get a hold of the news that her husband was of good health in the war struck mainland.

Eventually, the supply boat came and Lady Annise looked ecstatic but her lady-like grace hid the fact as she talked to the boat’s skipper meanwhile the other residents of the island who could carry hefty crates hauled them back to the main building to be stored. Slowly but surely each crate of food and amenities were whisked to the main building and so did the skipper’s and Lady Annise’s conversation coming to a close resulting in a clouded look with tears seemingly welling up in her eyes as she walked back to the manor.

“Dain!” I was shaking from my thoughts and looked back at the source of the noise, it was Tian and his twin Niel, Tian much more annoyed looking at me meanwhile his twin worried by his brother’s shout,

Looking out of the vista almost forget my activity of narrating over things as I wrote them into a journal so that I could compile them into a tale much like the stories I’ve heard and read before I was sent by my parents, but now I’m taken aback to reality and chores plague the most awe-inspiring of moments as I slowly stood back up to face the twins who came to get me.

“I know you witnessed something awe-inspiring that you had to narrate and write it down, I know.” ah, I must have kept an open book in this scenario, Tian guessed already my poor excuse, I really should make a new one, his face was already annoyed best not to make it on the spot and be on the receiving end of his nagging. Just shrugged at his remark and we went on our way back.

As we returned to the common room, Tian was already nagging of my whereabouts to Sir Ian, Lady Annise’s head attendant. He didn’t scold me as much as Tian but I digress. After the monotonous chores being

Memories in war

The battlefield rages forth as neither side resigns the flags of peace, pride and wrath overpowers the stench of death and decay each stands their ground, each bearing their coat of arms, the prejudices of what they are fighting for, and a soul to guide them back to any resemblance of sanity.

A soldier kneeled in front of a fallen enemy, his face dour yet stoic, his heart yearns for him to scream in agony towards the unsightly display of bloody, mangled bodies, but the sight of where he knelt, the remains of a Hemmling he once was acquainted with on his many adventures before the war broke out, the Hemming’s body still pristine except for the stab wound through their chest, killing them on the spot.

He silently prayed for their reposed soul with a clouded expression, as he stood up to go back, run even, it won't even matter if he commits treason for running away from the battle, he wanted to get out of this place, out of this situation as soon as possible.

“I have to get out,” he murmured to himself, tears welling up in his eyes.

Readying to sprint out, to flee, outside the prideful and prejudiced conflicts of war, his resolution was on a new path when the skies slowly cleared, about to step forward, a voice rang out, but only he can hear it, his heart reminiscing of a nostalgic feeling, his soul trembling with sheer emotion by the ringing voice.

“Please…” the wind whispered to the soldier who was now on the verge of tears. “Remember… me…”

He looked back to his former acquaintance, peacefully at rest, a solemn face that was never there covering the once tear stained look, a glistered light from a pendant necklace reflected onto his face, the wind whispered once more.

“Remember… me…” those two words again, over, and over bouncing in the chasms of his mind, “Take… it…” the voice echoed to him.

Apprehensive to take an item from the recently deceased, the disembodied voice kept repeating to ‘take it’ much to the soldier’s dismay, he delicately removed the trinket silently asked for forgiveness as the voice slowly subsided and he was finally able to escape, to somewhere he can solemnly vow to keep his promise.

His hatred has not peaked yet

After travelling from the seaside vistas of Alkan, the salty breeze was no longer an issue to me. The pirate legion debacle could have been avoided if I shut my damn mouth and not been tempted to scam them out of a completely bogus map. Barely made it out with my multiple personalities and my employer.

“You’re still salty about what happened back there?” my employer quipped, “you know if you knew that the map leads you to a pile of junk the local kids collected; Stal wouldn’t have gone berserk and overpower the entire legion to his and by proxy, your command, and we could’ve caught up to Frawn with the spare time.” He sighed, knowing the love of his life was at stake, I can see my hubris has failed me once again and now it's in this second life. No excuse could weasel me out of this one, might as well bite the bullet.

“I know that’s why I’m making up for the lost time.” I replied, still marching on, “Turns out, having an entire legion of Pirates is completely useless when your destination is completely landlocked,” annoyed by the caveat of a land-based escort mission, I looked at my employer again, his unamused and disappointed face would be an indicator of the rejected idea of having Alkie float one of the ships, but I was completely against the idea considering the power move it would look to the reining lord of the land to see an imposing galleon flying across their land, it could spell as a declaration for war, and my hated of life has not reached the point of ending the entire world.
