“Compared to a lot of other dog owners out there, I’d say that isn’t pathetic or lame. I’ve heard of people raising dogs as if they are actually their kids. Like pushing them around in strollers and shit like that…you don’t do that do you?”
“No, but I’ve considered it when they get older.”
wil-denver
“Oh good” Wil replied with a shrug, going back to gathering up all the things he had just dropped “Help would he great, thanks..” he added, tossing a few of his things back into the box.
“Yeah sure, no problem.” She smiled at him as she knelt down to put some of the things in a box. “I’m guessing you’re just moving in?”

“A normal job? What’s that?” Christian joked with her, knowing the feeling of not having a normal job all too well. “What do you do, dear?” He asked, offering another smile to the pretty petite brunette.
“True.” She nodded her head and smiled. “I perform in musical theater.”

“Ain’t nothing wrong with spoiling your animals. They’re family, you’d treat ‘em as if they were your own.”
“They are my girls. I love them like they were my biological kids.”

“Pfft, sparkly collars are the best! Definitely not pathetic or lame. Did you get the match leashes?”
Hell yeah, I did. Did you really think I wouldn’t?
misslucette
I think that sounds very sweet. I ‘ave never owned a pet myself, but… but I if I ever did, I am pretty sure I would be the same. ‘Ow many dogs do you own… that is, if you do not mind me asking?
I spoil them way too much. I gave them Hanukkah gifts and everything. I have two dogs. A Yorkie named Penny Lane and a Yorkie-Poo named Sadie.

Evie’s lips pressed together as she heard the girl’s story; “I know it’s not much of an offer since I have Rosie but if you’d like to crash on my couch any time you’re most welcome to. I’ll try and keep her quiet for you.”
“I may take the offer. My apartment isn’t really that close. I shouldn’t be sleeping out here, but when i saw something comfortable I took the chance.” Audrey sighed and nodded. “I don’t think we introduced each other. I’m Audrey.”
I think my dogs are more spoiled than normal. I just got them a few bags of treats and sparkly collars to wear. I don’t know if that’s pathetic or just really lame.

Walking towards the White Oak building he had just recently moved into, Christian pouted his face slightly at the voice speaking through his iPhone. “What happened with the Hankwood Merger?” He paused to listen at one of his employees explaining. “I’ll be there in 30. Have Tyler waiting in my office.” He mumbled in a somewhat disappointed tone, clicking the end call button. Noticing the stranger near him, a charming smile formed across his face as he jokingly said, “Gotta love work.”
Audrey was sitting in the lobby, reading a book. Seeing the mailman come and fill the mailboxes, the tiny brunette got up and went to to get her mail. Hearing someone say something to her, she looked over and gave a small smile. “I guess. I don’t really have a normal job to understand that.”

Wil was carrying the last box he’d brought with him to his apartment when he tripped. He maintained his balance quite easily, but the box in his hand slipped from his grasp and all the things inside it scattered over the ground. Luckily it was nothing fragile– a few books and CD’s. He sighed softly and crouched down to pick up his things when he heard footsteps approaching “Fuck. Tell me you didn’t just see that..?” he asked, sitting up slightly and looking up at who he was talking too.
Audrey was reading a news article on her phone as she walked into the building. Hearing a noise, she looked up and found someone bending down to get his things. “Actually, no, I wasn’t paying attention. Do you want me to help?”
evangelinehiggins
“Have you tried some calming remedies? When I can’t sleep because my brain is awake I try tea or something warm. You can also look into pressure points on your body that can help you sleep. Like I know there is one in your forehead that can do the trick” Evie suggested.
“Oh, it’s not insomnia. My best friend is in the hospital and I’ve been there the past few day. I had the couch to sleep on, but I couldn’t really sleep with the way hospitals are with the sounds and everything.” She sighed and looked up at the girl.

“The fire hasn’t bothered me as much as other things have. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen worse happen in my life. I don’t know. I just moved on after it. I’m grateful to be alive after it…and I’m glad to be alive now. I just know actually almost dying is going to leave a lot more of an impact on me than that.” He tugged on his blanket a little, the soft fabric acting as a security device for him. “I don’t know if I want to cover it up. Maybe just pay homage to it. I survived that gunshot, why would I want to hide that?”
“The point is, Audrey, that I feel less than human having to lay here in this bed and have everyone do everything for me. I can’t get up and use the bathroom, I can’t go take a shower to stop feeling disgusting. Someone has to come and help me, sponge me off. If I can help anything. let me at least look a little less like I almost died and have my hair look decent. I would think you of all people would understand that.” He glared over at her for a moment before shaking his head and looking away. “I’m sorry….I just hate this so much.” He thought back to Carnaval, all of the foods he loved to eat and learned to appreciate in his life. “It’s delicious. Maybe you would have to grow up in Italy to realize that.”
“I think it’s just the fact that I lost Penny because of the fire. I just have these nightmares where I picture them stuck in the fire and they don’t get out, even though they did. That sounds so stupid.” Audrey shook her head and sighed as she tied her braid with a hair tie. “Yeah, I understand that. I had the same feeling when I was sick with my problem. I was so close to death before I went to rehab. But at least someone got you in time. I would have been so upset if you didn’t make it. You’re my best friend. I can’t go without you because you protect me. That sounds selfish. I’m sorry.” The tiny brunette smiled and nodded. “This is true. I think it would be kind of cool to have your battle wound out in the open. You can prove that you made it through the hard times.”
Audrey looked at him as he spoke, lowering her eyes to her hands. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have joked about it.” She slowly got up and tried to fix his hair, the curls making it harder for her. “Um, Marco, your hair isn’t doing anything. I need gel or something to calm it down.” She bit her lip and thought for a moment, pouring a tiny bit of water in her hands and tried to flatten it that way, only getting some of it to cooperate. “My grandma makes it, but I think if I didn’t see it being made, I would actually like it. But watching her put the octopus in the pan and it still looks alive just bothers me.”

“That’s… Probably not a good thing. What if someone broke into the apartment and you were right there,” Noel asked, gesturing the couch that was in full view of the apartment entrance. “Or some creepy dude was just standing outside staring in at you?” Noel thought a lot about these things while going through the lobby.
“I know. I just haven’t slept in maybe 4 days and I barely had the energy to get through the door.” Audrey sighed and ran her hand through her hair. “I’ve been at the hospital with Marco and I just haven’t slept since I got there. I’m sorry.”
evangelinehiggins
“So is everything okay with you?” she clarified with the girl to make sure she didn’t require assistance.
“Yeah, I just haven’t slept much lately.” Audrey smiled and nodded.
misslucette
“Oh,” Lucette smiled softly at her. “Well, thank you.”
“Did you live in the city long?” Audrey asked, noticing that the girl was extremely shy.
