Dubbed the “Kiss of Life,” this jaw-dropping photograph captures the moment when utility worker J.D. Thompson saves his colleague, Randall Champion after he was struck unconscious by a 4,000-volt electric shock. Without hesitation, J.D. performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation while Randall dangled from his harness on the utility pole.
Randall not only survived this harrowing ordeal but also lived for another 35 years, a testament to Thompson’s quick thinking and bravery.
Photographer Rocco Morabito captured this life-saving act in 1967, earning him the Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography.
Aww, I just want to adopt him and keep him safe
An interesting and useful custom worth following: Whenever you eat fruit, don't throw seeds in the trash. Wash and dry them, put them in a box and keep them in the car. When you're driving, throw them out the window in places where there are no trees. Mother Nature will do the rest. Or throw them around while walking or biking. This practice has existed for centuries in Asian countries. This is why their fruit grows everywhere now. You actually often see a similar phenomenon in Eastern Europe. While walking in the forest or on the hillsides you often suddenly come upon apples, apricots, plums and pears growing in the forest for everyone to enjoy.
My eyes and soul are feasting on the spring flowers <3
Ghost apples are created when freezing weather coats an apple in ice. Eventually, the apple inside rots and falls out and the icy shell is left behind. Voila, here is your ice apple.
What if the solution to one of the world’s biggest pollution problems wasn’t just technology… but teamwork with nature? In Sweden, an innovative startup has created a smart device that rewards crows with food in exchange for collecting cigarette butts. These incredibly intelligent birds have quickly learned how it works—turning urban waste into an opportunity for cleaner streets. Every year, billions of cigarette butts end up polluting our environment, harming wildlife and ecosystems. But this simple yet brilliant idea shows that with creativity, sustainability, and a little help from nature, we can rethink how we tackle global problems. Sometimes, the smartest solutions come from thinking outside the human box.

On September 19, 1991, a German couple was hiking in the Austrian Alps when they found a body of what they thought was a mountain climber who accidentally perished...However, it turned out the body had been frozen in the ice for over 5300 years. The body became known as Ötzi, 'The Iceman'. Shockingly, the iceman appeared to have been a victim of a murder and still had an arrowhead stuck in his left shoulder (in addition to many other injuries). A wealth of prehistoric items were found scattered around the body, including a bow with arrows, a copper axe, a flint knife with a woven sheath, fur and leather clothing, shoes, and other small items.
Churchill, Manitoba (Northern Canada) patrol captured two polar bears seen in a residential area. The bears were successfully tranquilized before being transferred to the town's Polar Bear Holding Facility affectionally called "Polar Bear Jail" where the bears are isolated until they can be relocated to an unpopulated area.
Before the facility was established in 1982, polar bears which were considered dangerous were shot. The facility currently has 28 cells that can hold the bears from two to 30 days. "Repeat offenders' are held the longest based on a premise that extended captivity would create a sense of danger for the bears so that they will be reluctant to approach the town. The bears are not fed during the captivity. Since the bears' natural life cycle involves long periods of fasting, their bodies are adapted to going without food for an extended period of time. During the cold months when the ice in the Hudson Bay has set, the bears are released. They are tranquilized again and transported by helicopter far from the town, hopefully not to be seen again.
Newborn foals are born with what horse lovers call “fairy fingers” or “golden slippers.” The scientific name for these soft, rubbery coverings is eponychium. They form around the foal’s tiny hooves before birth, giving each foot a padded, cushion-like appearance.
These golden slippers have an important job. While the foal is still in the womb, they protect the mother’s uterus from sharp kicks. During birth, they also keep the birth canal safe from the edges of the foal’s hooves. Without them, both the mare and foal would face serious risks.
Right after birth, the eponychium begins to dry and peel away. Within hours of the foal’s first steps, the soft coverings disappear, revealing the hard hooves underneath.
The nine-banded armadillo is one of nature’s most unique creatures. Not only does it birth four identical babies through natural cloning, but it also has a bone armour that protects it like an ancient relic
This incredible animal doesn’t just walk on land—it can swim underwater, holding its breath for minutes, or inflate its stomach to float like a tiny armoured boat.
Furthermore, it is known to carry bacteria that causes leprosy and plays a role in scientific research into the disease.
aww, sweetie. Try bum first <3
