"I get it, you're just concerned..." As much as Ruby wanted to continue arguing, she held herself back. She knew he was worried about her; had she just heeded his advice, all of this could have been avoided. However, it wasn't particularly the subject of the argument that still set her off: it was one particular remark. I’ll stop treating you like a child when you stop acting like a child.

It took her a few seconds to realize she'd grown quiet all of a sudden, distracted by her thoughts. She lowered her eyes to the floor,

Ruby was haaaving a day as she entered the library at Beacon Academy. First, Weiss had yelled at her over something that definitely wasn't her fault... okay, it kind of was, but not entirely her fault. Second, her sister kept pestering her to talk to more people. She had friends! Why did she need to talk to more people? And third, one of said friends--Jaune--had tripped at lunch and spilled his food on her. If today wasn't the definition of "bad day", she wasn't sure what the correct definition was.

She sighed, picking up a book from a nearby shelf as she reflected upon her day. She flipped it open and started reading as she walked towards her usual spot in the library. Without looking up from her book, she plopped down in the... chair?

Roman blinked and glanced down at his lap, completely and utterly confused by the small childlike being with a hairdo that…incidentally looked similar to…Red’s. She looked a lot like Red…but about as small as Neo. “Do I…know you…?”

A small squeak slipped from the girl's mouth as his finger poked her cheek. She stirred at the sound of a voice, responding with a tired mumble of something that roughly translated to "don't wanna wake up..." Despite her complaints, she reluctantly opened her eyes to see a single, green eye staring at her in confusion, the other eye covered by orange... hair...

It took her a moment for everything to fully register in her brain, but when it did: she bolted upright out of his lap, her blue eyes wide awake now. She had to calm her panicked heart rate before her brain could process how to speak again.

"I-I'm sorry! I, um... I don't know how I ended up, ah..." Her face felt on fire. "I'm sorry, I-I don't even know who you are." Well, she knew who he reminded her of, but that couldn't possibly be him... Could it?

"Looks like your not in Kansas anymore."

"I don’t know where this Kansas place is, but… I guess I’m really not in Vale…" She took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. "You said this was some kind of city, right? Can you tell me more about this place? Maybe that’ll help me remember how I got here…"

"Romaaan! Can I borrow your hat?"

"Sure, I— No, wait. Why would you need my hat…?"

He shook his head, “I-it’s nothing.”

Roman grabbed the brim of the hat and pulled it over her eyes.

"There, that was payback. Now go on, Red.”
