@littletilda
the meaning of tilda
for emalee
Hey. Hey. Hey you. Your uncle is a really grumpy lady. Like Sigrid grumpy.
"Tilda! Uhm well yes I suppose you are right about that, but he has a lot on his plate."
"Can't he be nice to Da though? It's not that hard to pretend to be nice. I do that to Alfrid all the time."
"Sweet little Tilda. Would you mind getting rid of all the walnuts?"
"Okay! Did they go bad?" She asked looking up at Kili
"Brilliant. There is some men on boats outside that would probably love raining walnuts," he wagged his eyebrows cheekily.
"No, no we should throw them at Alfrid." Tilda said shaking her head. "I want to see if I can hit him on the eyebrow."
"Sweet little Tilda. Would you mind getting rid of all the walnuts?"
"Okay! Did they go bad?" She asked looking up at Kili
"Haha no no Iâm fine. No medicine," Kili assured,
"Iâll even let you braid my hair if you throw all the walnuts out the window."
Tilda's eyebrows perked up. "Really?" she asked excitedly. "Okay I can totally get rid of the walnuts and make it look like an accident." She lowered her voice. "I've done it before don't tell Sig or she'll make Alfrid lock me up."
"Sweet little Tilda. Would you mind getting rid of all the walnuts?"
"Okay! Did they go bad?" She asked looking up at Kili
"Well no. I just get sick whenever I see them now."
"Oh no. Do you need some medicine?" She asked looking concerned.Â

Bows and Buttons || Sigrid & Tilda
"I looked for almost two weeks before I found one," Sigrid answered. "Just when I thought I would never find it, I did. Thatâs usually how it goes." She knew it was exhausting, preparing for a wedding, but it would all be worth it. "Youâll find one, Til, donât lose hope." She patted her sisterâs hand and stood, picking up the last dress sheâd tried on and dropped to the floor.
"Kheluz is several things, but âcommonâ and âbeastâ are not among them." She gave her sister a wry smile, hanging up the dress on the rack. "They will learn to accept him. Theyâve had to accept several unexpected marriages recently. This one is no different."
Tilda resisted the urge to roll around on her sisters bed in the dress that she was currently wearing in case she ripped it. "Ugh I just want this wedding done and over with." She sighed softly. "How are the other plans coming along?" Tilda asked. She was happy that her sister had taken the burden of planning her wedding for her. Â Tilda had never been very good at organisation. She hated it, her sister however loved it.
"Have you picked out flowers and stuff?" she asked. Tilda wasn't even sure what else there was to plan about the wedding. "Oh invitations?" She asked suddenly. "Have you invited people I like or have you invited the whole north?" She asked making a face. There was a few northern lords she didn't want to see ever again.

Bows and Buttons || Sigrid & Tilda
Sigrid crossed her arms, tapping her chin with one finger as she looked over her little sisterâs dress. âI like it,â she decided. âThough the bow is a bit muchâŠâ She sat down next to her on the bed and folded her hands in her lap. âYou donât necessarily have to go with white, no. Itâs the most common, but itâs not demanded.â
She smiled slightly at the question. âItâll be worth it when you find the right one. Trust me. Itâs as if you forget all the dresses before it.â
Tilda let out a soft groan. "How long did it take you to find yours?" She asked lifting her head out of the mattress. Tilda could just remember Sigrids wedding. She'd only been little at the time and could just remember their father walking her down the aisle. She hoped Bard would be feeling well enough to walk her down the aisle when the special day came. If not Bain would do.
"You think the East will make Da suffer because I'm marrying a 'common beast'?" Tilda asked. That was what most of the royal court of Dale and even Erebor was calling her future husband.
King of Dale. Princess of Dale.
Bows and Buttons || Sigrid & Tilda
It wasn't that Tilda didn't like dressing up and being pretty it was that she felt that all these dresses were too much. They had an atrocious amount of lace, too many frills and too much ribbon. Nothing looked right at all. "I dunno about this one." Tilda sighed turning to look at herself in the looking glass. "Does it really have to be white?" Tilda asked. She knew it was traditional for the bride to wear white on her wedding day but she was certain that white wasn't her colour. She sighed and flopped down on her sisters bed. "Sig why is this so hard?"
