My favourite item I did for GISH. I successfully managed not to set fire to my kitchen.

I only did a few hunts, but each one made me a little bolder and a little more at ease with my weirdness. I was looking forward to seeing where I would go in future hunts, but it’s not to be. Now I look forward to seeing where we all go next.

GISH 2022 Item 45: “...go to the Endangered Languages Project map and locate an Indigenous language near you that is vulnerable or endangered. Listen to it and learn about it. Then, create a beautiful, handmade infographic about it to share what you learned about this precious language.”

This took me a couple of days to research - I went down many internet rabbit holes. If you fancy having a go at learning Gaelic, learngaelic.scot and duolingo are good starting points :)

GISH 2022 Item 50: NASA Data Challenge

This processing is purely artistic. Eta Carinae's nebula being called Homunculus ('little man') made me think about pareidolia and the human tendency to see ourselves in everything. This particular image looks like a ghost to me, which feels appropriate. New stars are formed from the remains of dead stars, and we exist to see ghosts in the heavens only because of the heavy elements formed in those dead stars.

One would think that he'd get a better job, now his child was God, but apparently not. Clean-up duty it was. It wasn't even all his mess. On the other hand, most of the other perpetrators were still dead, so there was that. Castiel had extensive experience of dying, and mopping was generally preferable. He wondered whether it was too late to ask to be human again. He would be doing much the same thing at the Gas 'N' Sip, but he would get paid and there would be breaks and maybe even coffee. Not to mention better cleaning supplies. "How am I supposed to get ichor out of firmament with a mop?" he thought to himself irritably. "That's going to require the rough side of a sponge."

GISHMAS Day 8: Snowperson getting vaccinated.

I’m particularly fond of the terrible posters. It was fun coming up with masks that fit over a carrot nose!

(The current patient is not masked because they’re medically exempt, so it’s particularly important that they’re up to date on their vaccinations. Please wear a mask if you can and get all your jabs, both to protect yourself and to protect others!)
