A summary of revamped backstory/plot.
I was starting to regret some of my backstory/plot decisions in the past so I made everything easier to understand for both me and you by changing things and deleting things LOL.

plot summary #4
For a long time, the rain quintet had been pointing knives at each othersâ throats from trust issues. Â However, due to all of their preferences to keep their personal issues quiet, nothing had ever been said about them. Â So, most of these issues came from conflicts from a long time ago.
Iyame had trust issues with Amaoto for lying about his identity.
Iyame had trust issues with Asura for her stunts as Kurori.
Amaoto had trust issues with Katsuo for doppelganging as him before.
Katsuo had trust issues with Amaoto for doppelganging as him before.
Katsuo had trust issues with Asura due to complicated past.
Katsuo has suspicions of Iyame for influencing Natsukoâs nightmares and possibly negatively interacting with Umeko.
Asura had trust issues with Katsuo due to complicated past.
Asura had trust issues with Iyame because of blackmail.
Aka!Asura hated Ame for interfering with her plans between her and Kiiro!Asura.
The thing was, Aka!Asura wanted to still carry out her plans. Â Revealed by Kiiro!Asura, Aka!Asura wanted to combine with Kiiro!Asura and possess Iyame to slaughter the entire human town near the residence due to her still-existing hate for humans. Â Aka!Asura planned to make Kiiro!Asura vulnerable to combining by binding her to a book, and by making Iyame desperate for her power by causing chaos within the rain lot, Aka!Asura could possess her. Â Everything was set up perfectly to start her plans -- all she had to do was poke the unsteady tower and watch it crash.
However, Atsura had trapped Aka!Asura in Hiyoriâs body after a strong change of heart. Â Essentially, Aka!Asura was trapped in a box (Hiyori) that was sealed with tape (Atsura). Â So, Aka!Asura couldnât do much to make her plans work, however, there was one thing that could, in fact, do to kick-start it.
When Paisely was suddenly gone, Amaoto was devastated.  He couldnât tell who was Paisely and who was Kaleb anymore, and he was empty.  Atsura offered to grant his wish of finding Paisely if he won a game she called âThe Original Sin Gameâ.  So, Amaoto played with Atsura -- if he lost, he would pay a punishment, and if he won, he would get his wish granted.  However, in the final round, he messed up.  In exchange for another chance, Atsura told him to make a contract.  The contract was simply, âDo whatever the âheartâ tells you to do.â  Amaoto, not knowing the true consequences, accepted and won the game.
With control of Amaoto, Aka!Asura made him look exactly like Katsuo thanks to their incredible similarities. Â With the power to technically control âtwoâ people, she could cause chaos within the rain lot. Â Amaoto under the influence of Aka!Asura will be referred to as Shiroto now.
So, Shiroto went to the kitchen with a bat, where Kiiro!Asura was watching over Ame eating snacks. Â Shiroto tried to attack Ame with the bat, but Kiiro!Asura saved Ame just in the nick of time. Â Mad with her getting in the way, Shiroto tried to knock her out, but Kiiro!Asura deflected with her arm just in time, and was in a slight disadvantage due to there being no paper around. Â Ame fled the scene to get help, and long story short, Shiroto trapped Kiiro!Asura into a yellow book. Â However, due to people coming, he wasnât able to retrieve the book in time and fled out the window.
The Yellow Book with a Silver Diamond Engraving: The power to read about the truth.
Luckily for Kiiro!Asura, Umeko picked up the yellow book and started to read about Katsuoâs true feelings about everyone after seeing the doppelganger of Katsuo try and kill people. Â However, the command of seeing his feelings stopped, and then Kiiro!Asura started to communicate with Umeko. Â Usually, the four books do not communicate, but Kiiro!Asura used the loophole of telling her true thoughts of everything to communicate with Umeko. Â There, Aka!Asuraâs plans were revealed.
Meanwhile, Shiroto turned back to looking like Amaoto and found Katsuo trying to talk to him while he was wandering through the forest. Â Not wanting two Katsuos to increase difficulties in plans, Shiroto caught Katsuo off guard and knocked him out with his bat. Â After that, Aka!Asura stopped influencing Amaoto as he ran off back to the residence. Â She then trapped Katsuo in an illusion so he couldnât find his way back to the residence.
Kiiro!Asuraâs main goal was to escape the yellow book. Â She knew that if she stayed for too long, Aka!Asura would find her and combine with her. Â However, the only ways she knew how to escape the book was if an Asura not trapped in a book pulled her out, or if a being with either a physical body or a cracked soul (explained later) pulled her out with even force. Â Though, the thing was, the other two Asuras (Ao and Midori) were both trapped in books as well, and Aka was not an option, so she had no escape route.
Like Kiiro!Asura, Midori!Asura had been desiring to escape the book for a very long time to help comfort Iyame, who was her best friend.  When sensing Kiiro!Asuraâs strong determination and will to escape the book, Midori!Asura rushed to Kiiro!Asura with her desire to escape.  The two almost shattered from the strain, but they combined into a turquoise book and combined souls.  Because of the rule of âa book can only contain half of a soulâ, the two were rejected by the turquoise book and were allowed to escape the book.
So, we now have:
Aka: Trapped in Hiyoriâs body and bound into his body by Atsura.
Kiiro and Midori: Combined as âloveâ and âdeterminationâ.
Ao: Trapped in the blue book and held by Iyame.
This is where we are right now.
Side notes:
âCracked soulâ is a term referred to the Genocide!Route. Â It is when a human spirit youkai is eaten by corruption and is cracked from strain once the corruption is forcefully stopped in a certain way. Â This allows them to be vulnerable to other spirit youkai to âpossessâ them, and other bad penalties. Â Iyame is the only known cracked soul in Current!Route.
Because they are complimenting opposites, if Kiiro and Ao combine, they will not be able to separate again, and Asura will be permanently be back to normal.
When two halves of Asura combine, they gain each othersâ memories.
a shikigami and a priest
As I thought about my father in the alleyway, I felt a tug on the edge of my shirt. Â I turned around, and there was a little girl with short, purple hair standing right behind me. Â I felt something off about her at first sight. Â Although I was a terrible priest, even I could tell there was something up with her.
âExcuse me, but what are you doing here?â the girl asked with a childlish, yet innocent smile. Â I felt a sweat run down the back of my neck. Â I didnât know what a small girl like her was doing here.
âI was just exploring here, like I always do,â I replied, keeping my cool. Â The first step was to establish who was the one in power. Â As long as my soul never wavered, I could potentially get this girl to leave me alone. Â However, she seemed much too interested in me to move away. Â I felt like I just encouraged her more, in all honesty.
âYou always seem to loiter around these alleys for some reason,â she commented with a slight frown. Â From the tone of her voice, I could tell she felt really concerned about me. Â I let my guard down a bit as I thought about that fact. Â She gave a cheerful smile. Â âMy name is Asura! Â Whatâs yours?â she asked happily.
âIâm Katsuo,â I introduced, not saying anything else, mainly because there was no purpose to. Â Asura gave a grin. Â âWow! Â Nice to meet you, Katsuo~!â she replied with a happy wave of her arms. Â As she started to ramble, I took out a lollipop from my pocket and began to ate it, not really listening to what she had to say. Â When she was done, she gave a pout.
âWow, did you listen to anything I had to say--?â
âNo.â
âe HH-- Â YOUâRE TERRIBLE--!!â
ââcanât help that I donât care.â
Although she was quite annoying, she didnât seem to be a bad person. Â I also didnât mind her company. Â The next day, I found her in the alleys, and then we talked. Â The day after that, we met each other and talked again. Â It would be dumb not to call each other friends at that point. Â I never had any friends at the point of time, so it was nice to have her around.
âToday I saw this old man who was actually tall! Â Imagine an old man with the legs of a basketball player!â Asura exclaimed.
âAhhh, seems interesting,â I mumbled in response. Â I was already getting slightly bored of the conversation, so I tossed her a small bag, and she blinked, catching it. Â Asura looked down at the bag and opened it, and there was a fresh piece of taiyaki in it. Â She seemed mystified. Â It was as if sheâd never seen taiyaki before.
â.... ? Â Is this for me?â she asked me with a dumb look.
âOf course it is. Â Who the hell else?â I asked bluntly, pulling another bag for myself. Â I watched as she pulled it out from the white bag and kept staring at it as if wondering where to start. Â I sweat. Â This girl was really pitiful.
âYou can start from head or tail. Â People who start from the side are crazy. Â Donât be like them,â I explained with a sigh.
âHuhu, like this?â Asura asked, biting from the side. Â I stared at her for a moment, and I really did want to fight her for doing that. Â Asura noticed my expression and snickered. Â I gave a grumble and bit the tail of my taiyaki. Â She was irritating, but even then, I still didnât mind her.
As a present, a girl thanked my mother for helping her and gave her a couple of ribbons. Â My mother, not really knowing what to do with them, decided to give a few to my brother and I. Â We both exchanged weird looks. Â âGive them to a girl you like at school,â my mother said with a laugh when we asked what to do with them. Â We shrugged at each other and continued on with our days.
âYo, Katsuo!â Asura greeted with an enthusiastic salute. Â She was very slangy that day apparently. Â I gave a wave in return and leaned against the wall right beside her.
âSo, today, I found this cute cat with golden eyes! Â It was so cute! Â I had to keep petting it,â Asura started to ramble happily. Â âIt seemed to really like me too! Â It couldnât stop following me around! Â I wanted to keep i--â
â-- shut up for a second.â
âeh--â
I leaned off the wall and stood right in front of her. Â I reached into my pocket to grab something. Â She gave an awkward smile, seeming to be a bit intimidated by me as I kept fumbling around.
âW .... hat is it, Katsuo?â she asked with a nervous laugh. Â I silently reached over toward her head, and she flinched as if I were going to attack her. Â Then, I tied a light purple ribbon to the side of her hair. Â She froze, her eyes widened, and touched where I had tied the ribbon onto her. Â âW ... hatâs t ... his?â she asked, seeming really shocked.
âItâs a ribbon. Â I thought itâd look good on you,â I replied.
âHa ... Â Haha! Â I know, right?! Â I make anything look good!â she exclaimed with a boastful attitude, but I could tell easily she was flustered.
â..... Sure,â I mumbled in agreement.
âWhyâd you give it to me, though?â
â.... No reason, really. Â I just had it in my pocket.â
a rebel
When I was way younger, I wasnât really that much of an attention-seeking person. Â I lived in a family whose bloodline was strongly connected to many successful priests. Â Therefore, my younger brother and I were forced to undergo training to become one, or at least I was. Â My brother seemed to enjoy it a lot, and became more talented than me. Â So, my parents paid more attention to him than me.
I didnât really care my family in all honesty. Â I enjoyed roaming around the streets and alleys to explore around the city. Â I was a complete lone wolf, and I liked it that way. Â However, the training we had to undergo was a bit annoying and exhausting. Â I hope I would graduate or something from this soon.
However one day, a family consisting of a mother, father, and a son came into our shrine. Â They sobbed about their son being cursed by a dangerous spirit, and that it was causing havoc in their life. Â My father, up to the task, decided to go and help them. Â He was surprised to find out that this spirit was a shikigami that had been living for a whole century. Â He wondered how something like a shikigami could still live on with this much power without its master.
So, my father went to make preparations and my mother made my brother and I watch the entire thing. Â He failed many times that day, and just gave them a protective charm in hopes of the shikigami of leaving them alone, giving them to another shrine that could hopefully help them better. Â The family thanked him and left.
The next day, my father died from an accident. Â My mother sobbed when she received the call, and my younger brother grit his teeth, knowing that it was the spirit that killed our father. Â He wanted to end this shikigami in revenge, and wanted my help. Â However, I wasnât interested. Â I went over to explore in the alleys like usual.
There was a sudden sadness that filled my soul. Â Even though I wasnât really close to him, he wasnât particularly a bad man, so I didnât hate him, but I didnât love him that much either.
â.... Â Iâm so sorry,â I mumbled to myself, stopping in my tracks. Â Maybe if I could have a little more extra time with him, Iâd probably try my best to get to know him better.

update on group thing
So, I decided to make two new groups lolâ
The first one is the one being decided in the poll. Â There is no limit to the number of people, so you can join this one whenever you want.
The second one is the Yamata-no-Orochi, because people seemed a hell lot pumped for it, but uh, itâs too limited, so I decided to make a separate group for that.
So, first call first serve kind of thing for Yamata-no-Orochi now since the first group exists. Â You can just join the first group and be good with it after all. Â If you REALLY want to be in Orochi but thereâs no more slots, message me and we can work it out. Â Thanks for your participation, everyone!
There are currently one slot left available for Yamata-no-Orochi.
