Pretentious brunch

Lady next to me at brunch today (ordered a df gf pesto kale bowl with grilled chicken or salmon, she was torn) was talking about someone she knew who was trying to get a job and couldn't seem to catch her lucky break into the inner circle. So this lady says to her boyfriend/husband/brunch buddy the reason why this girl isn't being hired is bc she needs to lose weight bc "thin people look better in clothes and people want to hire people who look good" and then proceeded to freak out on her brunch buddy telling him "you can't tell her I said that. I'm serious. You really can't tell her" He then agreed with her saying "I won't tell her and I completely agree. But everyone today is such a special snowflake you can't tell them things like that" And this lady thought "special snowflake" was the funniest thing and asked where he got it from. I don't know if I'm more enraged that she harbours the mentality that you get hired if you're thin or the fact that she lives under a rock in a df gf pesto kale bowl bubble and has never heard of the phrase "special snowflake" which her generation uses all the time to patronise people my age. All I knew is that i just wanted to shove my hipster af chocolate banana dulce de leche stuffed french toast up her ass and dump my mocha on her partner
