Just because a person has on a uniform does not give him the right to come and shoot up your neighborhood. No, this is not right, and my suggestion would be that as long as the police department doesn’t use those methods in white neighborhoods, they shouldn’t come to Harlem and use them in our neighborhood. I’d rather be dead than let someone walk around my house or in my neighborhood shooting it up, where my children are in the line of fire. Either they’d die or I’d die. It’s not intelligent, and it all started when a little boy was shot by a policeman, and he was turned loose, the same as the sheriff was turned loose in Mississippi when he killed the three civil rights workers. I hope you don’t misunderstand me when I say that…and I’m not advocating anything illegal against the police. I know good policemen, and I know bad policemen. I know policemen that bend over backwards to be human, and to protect other humans and to treat people as if they are human beings. Then I know others who shouldn’t be on the force. They’re not qualified, morally…even mentally. http://malcolmxfiles.blogspot.com/

Navigation of the Heart
In 2013 I was single and ready to mingle. I had a lot of ups and downs while casually dating until I met someone who became my friend, my confidant, my comedian, my everything I needed at that time. As a woman, I was quite guarded and over protective of my heart as to be sure it didn’t get broken so I took my time and let time do all the work. Through this relationship I was happy, vulnerable, and allowed myself to trust a man again... I stopped hiding from love. Then tragedy struck, we experienced our first hump in the road. I was stunned. I remember feeling like I was drowning, my lungs burning and unable to breathe... I died inside and felt guilty for allowing myself to be hurt again. It was a brief moment of disbelief. And although I was grieving the pain of this relationship, I chose to forgive and move on... Or did I? Forgive (verb):
1 a : to give up resentment of or claim to requital for <forgive an insult> b : to grant relief from payment of <forgive a debt> 2 : to cease to feel resentment against (an offender) : pardon <forgive one's enemies>
To cease to feel resentment... To give up resentment... From 2014 and most of 2015 I held on to feelings of resentment. I couldn’t let go of the hurt and pain I felt from him. It was as if I mentally forgave him but my heart was replaying every moment over and over again. I put a lot of tension and negativity in my relationship and was slowly but surely sinking fast. With every misstep I took so did he. We were dancing a deadly dance that we couldn’t stop. I was addicted to the pain and conflict I was feeling internally and projected it outwardly on a daily basis. I was stuck between love and hate and didn’t know how to change. 2016 brings new possibilities. I am learning to forgive. I am learning that with forgiveness comes responsibility. So being responsible for my actions, my words, and my truths is what 2016 is all about.
Some may wonder, how can you trust and love again after being hurt. It takes time. I’ve been fighting myself and my significant other for longer than a year and with it came a lot of scars. Most covered up with band-aids and left unresolved until our issues became the center of a volcano and exploded. As I always say, you must be the change you want to see. So for 2016 my goal is to love as I would want to be loved, and that is unconditionally. Even though we’ve been together for a while, we haven’t experienced love in our rawest form. We know what love is as a sister and brother, as a son and daughter, and even as a parent, but we don’t know love as me & him. We love each other but aren’t in love, but I don’t want to give up on the thought that we could be if we only stepped out of our own way. As someone told me, “You have to be the love he needs. He has to see love through you to be able to reciprocate those feelings.” So as I learn more about myself and my love, I’ll know if this is our road to take. My transformation starts now. To a better me, a better girlfriend. 2016 is my journey to self discovery and I’m ready for the ride.
Like the one thing about me is I will never have on a shirt and or bra on in my house. It’s my house, you lucky if I put on pants fam. And if I wake up at 5:47 am to go pee you can almost guarantee that I’m butt ass naked. So to have random people pop up at the house in the wee hours of the morning is pretty maddening.

I think one of my favorite feelings is laughing with someone and realizing half way through how much you enjoy them and their existence.

//last words..
Journalist Shirin Barghi collected the last words of men like Michael Brown – young, black, killed by authority figures while unarmed – and turned them into powerful illustrations.
“I created these images to raise awareness about racist police violence in America and as an expression of solidarity,” she tweeted. “I experienced police brutality in my native Iran, and the struggle here to confront that violence resonated with me.”
The minimalist images, eight of which appear below, are poignant echoes of the victims’ final moments.
