New Colonialism is the concept the works to linguistically typify the experiences of those still living in a post-colonial world. As it is observed (despite the many changes) the foundations of colonialism are still alive and well, existing on foreign territories that are not native to the colony and its presiding populous.
Acknowledging the many genocides, land thefts, village and intellectual property burnings among other colonial driven atrocities, new colonialism continues to re-invent the oppression for new and invasive realities as it is claimed in and through academia, regulation, systems, infrastructure, the tangible, habit and most recently digital content.
New colonialism is the budding school of thought that aims to continue the destruction that was left to the descendants of the colony. In my practice under the School of Decolonial Arts and Design I will work to deconstruct, unlearn, reimagine and eradicate the concepts of a living Western evolution to create a mapped subject of infrastructural justice that aims to regulate Decolonial space for those that are survivors of a colonial past.
