Baby bananas at the outdoor market 😆 I’ve never seen bananas so tiny! adorable! I love spending the early morning weekend days at the market. There’s so many fresh veggies and homemade foods.

New pen 🤩 it’s the pilot juice 0.38. I have used the black ink pen for a long time, but since I’m back in my travelers notebook with the cream paper, I wanted something a little more dreamy. The coffee brown, and the gray, so far, are my absolute favorites.

I have a new tiny Miffy from one of the official Miffy stores in Amsterdam. The new one has an orange tulip flower. My first corduroy Miffy keychain was from the Schiphol airport in Amsterdam. I had a four hour layover and spent some time shopping for souvenirs. My first Miffy is a bit dirty from use. It’s been in my backpack, purse, on a keychain. But the new Miffy will probably stay on my desk. super cute and a nice reminder of my time in Amsterdam.

Acrylic paint; 5 x 7 canvas and 8 x 8 canvas 

These are small acrylic paintings that I made at the beginning of February. The cow and chicken are based on pictures I found online. I painted a background on the canvas, then sketch the images with pencil or a charcoal pencil, and then paint it in the details with acrylic paint. I normally don’t paint anything so detailed since I tend to go towards abstract art. This is the first time I’ve painted a cow and a chicken. I think they came out really cute. I love the baby cow. It’s adorable and the chicken is just really funny with that side eye. 😊

Ceramic water pitcher and hat stand

This is a still life painting that I finished in late January. It is my impressions of a hat stand and a water pitcher. Both items are ceramic, handmade with lovely bright colors. I tried to use a limited color palette, but it was really hard to make that bright orange so I added some cad red too. It looks very vibrant in person. I love it. It’s very happy and different.

During the month of January, I was feeling very sad for various reasons - things at home, things going on in the world. I tried to paint some bright, happy yellow lilies, but I ended up painting over them and creating this instead. It is a reflection of sadness, stress, frustration, and the gloomy weather.

Pallet knife and scratches - I think this can be called a gestural or maybe intuitive painting.

Visited the Robert T Webb Sculpture Garden today. It’s located on the grounds of the Creative Arts guild in Dalton Georgia. You can do an online tour from their website which includes photos and an audio guide for each piece of artwork. Georgia's first permanent collection sculpture garden, featuring modern and contemporary works of art created during the past seven decades.
