Smth abt growing up in a conservative culture where things are subtlety pointed out through tones and body language without saying the words… Max calling George two-faced snake to the cameras when Max knows George cares about his appearance aka Mercedes poster boy…..snakes being animals of wisdom and fertility and rebirth…. Georgie being my favorite diva

Anyone wanna read a fic where George decides to flaunt his ass off his ‘snake-like’ qualities except it’s all the positive things from Asian mythology? And Max absolutely losing his mind because that is not what he had in mind but god he did this to himself, didn’t he?

maybe I could throw in a piece or two about George not being quite being 100% human….

ya know, the more I write russtapen the more I kept seeing golden child x eldest daughter . Think about it. Max has the begrudging support of the FIA, is allowed to say whatever he wants and have a ruthless team that caters to his every whim. On the other hand, George is tightly kept in line, by himself, Toto and Mercedes. The difference in their approaches in PR fascinates me to no end because while we only see what they want to show us, the persona they present to us still speaks volumes about their psychology behind. Being this far along in their F1 career meant they can keep up a mask, but that doesn’t mean their real selves can be completely suppressed. In a way, we see Max’s desire to stop being the golden child and center of attention (being waterlogged with attention but wanting to quit being center is a gnawing horror of sorts. He isn’t really happy about everyone singing his song on stage while there are other drivers present. I think he feels bad and worried for some bad feelings , but doesn’t know how to stop the craze fans have for him.) How long can you perform for the circus? I’m glad he isn’t addicted to it because that would be just horrifying for his mental health— the need to perform. George on the other hand is hungry. He wants and wants and wants— the validation, the love, the attention. He’s not as overtly showing it, he does have some self respect, but he craves to prove himself. With the whole Toto max and Kimi saga going on, I can see (my speculation but I was in his situation amongst my own family with my older brother who is Max) the hunger turning bitter, especially at Toto. All that love can’t replace validation and attention. And god did Toto openly looking for Max and praising Kimi for his performance while ignoring George grinds at me because I was in George’s position too. What I worry for is that George will be burned so badly by the sports but also so slowly, he will either become Seb, chasing the win season after season, or become Nico Rosberg. One championship and done, too burnt out. I am now in a much better mindset and have a much better relationship with said brother and my family but god I will always remember that deep dark little goblin greedy for any ounce of love and attention it could grab. George will at least play it right better than I did. I’m so grateful for Alex and Lando—friends are part of the reason I healed this fast.

Omg! Nono, no need to apologize. I was a bit confused at first when I saw your post (theres only one fic for Doriane and Fred being George’s protégés and it was mine ) so I went back to reread my entire work again and I was like oh

it was actually a illuminating experience, because I didn’t realize that others see the fic through different lenses. Maybe I should go look into the allure of bratcedes at some point in another fic lol.

when you try your hand at writing rpf because the dynamics between russtappen + kimi reminds you of some of your toxic family dynamics, and then someone on tumblr mentions how it makes them think of toxic age-gap bratcedes. so you go back to your work and read the whole thing and realize that just maybe, you might have accidentally written an Oedipus complex fic and now cannot get toxic bratcedes out of your brain.

Oops.

Kimi's too close to your age so you don't think you can write a good fic for them.

But Toto favoring Max and Kimi over George who would give his blood sweat and tears to receive any sort of praise from his father will always have my heart. Because I was George and the raw desperation to be seen and loved hidden behind a cold facade is exactly what compose of both of our "PR" masks. But there will always be tears hidden in the dark and the unanswerable questions of "what have I done wrong/have I done anything wrong?" and "why can't I make them happy?"

“Obviously you're not okay, Ness.”

“Leave me alone,” Ness snarled, trying to push past the insufferable Japanese that definitely decided to not leave me alone.

The hand around his wrist tightened and yanked him back. Ness pulled back a fist and punched, and judging by the soft grunt, he missed the target. 

Suddenly he was shoved back, an arm barred against his chest, and blurry black and blue shoved in his face.

“What is wrong with you?!”

“Nothing!” Ness yelled back and tried to twist out of the hold. Yet the tears, the tiredness from his confrontation with Kaiser weakened his strength and Isagi pushed him into the wall with ease.

“ You’re crying, your lips are bleeding—Ness, I want to help.”

Ness walked out of the room. Gripping his shaking hands, he walked straight down the hallway into his room. He didn’t see someone until he bumped into them, his eyes blurry from the unshed tears.

 He stumbled back “Shit, sorry—”

“It’s fine. A-Are you okay?”

Crap.

Out of all the people to bump into, Ness had inadvertently walked into Isagi Yoichi. The very person Mihya had replaced him with. 

“Get out of my way,” Ness grunted, trying to move past Isagi so he could go cry in his room in peace.

A hand grabbed his wrist.

Of course, Isagi Yoichi, the ever friendly fool, cannot go without minding his own business.
