Hello everyone!
This post is here to answer questions I have received. It is also intended to serve as an introduction to my channel.
Some people asked me why I don't post about things I love instead of spreading "hate". The answer is simple. As you may have noticed from my posts, I'm bothered by how Llorumi fans talk about abuse victims. This blog is here so they can feel validated. Yes, what happened to you is abuse. No one can deny that. I know how hard it is to read things like "Harumi should've have done worse to him." But don't get discouraged. Many people who make such statements are children, and if that's not the case, then it's indeed disappointing, but it has nothing to do with you darling. Your experience was real and no one but you has the right to contradict you.
I was also asked what exactly constituted abusive behavior in Harumi's case, since it was just "enemies to lovers" and there are worse ships. I am against calling this relationship enemies to lovers.
The enemies to lover trope requires:
- Mutual agency
- A dynamic where both sides can't stand and hurt each other
And that is definitely not what Llorumi is.
Harumi:
- groomed lloyd emotionally
- exploited his trust
- targetted him
- stalked him for years to figure out how to cause him pain best
- doubled down every time he wanted to help her
- took pleasure in his pain
The hatred is one-sided. Lloyd believed in her after everything she did. He never hated her.
If you're going to tell me there are worse relationships, you should give me some examples. If the two hate each other and do terrible things to each other, then it's still enemies to lovers. However, it also depends on what kind of media you consume, because in shows like Ginny and Georgia, even a slap is considered abuse (Which it definitely is!). But because Ninjago is for children, it makes Llorumi even worse, because she was definitely the most cruel villain. The writers probably went beyond all limits to make her as awful as possible. We can also see the long-term effects of her on his mental health in DRS4.
(I got lazy; maybe I'll add and answer more questions another day.)
