Fuck smthn just hit me rlly hard. The scene in Deadpool where Wade is contemplating leaving Vanessa to go to Francis’ warehouse thing we see him sitting alone and for once he is quiet. I think this may actually be the only scene where we see Wade not talking whatsoever. Some asian cultures believe that each human has three faces; the first one you show to everyone around you, the second you show only to those who are close to you, and the third is the face you only show when you are by yourself. This is said to be the purest, most unfiltered version of a person. So maybe Wade Wilson isn’t a loud, obnoxious, and murderous mercenary. But deep down he’s just quiet and scared and conflicted. Idk why but that scene spoke to me.

That’s exactly what Wade is like. In the comics, he once said that he puts on a show and pretends to be happy / funny, when in fact, he never have been neither (because of his depression). Depressed people tend to act like the ‘funniest’ ones, because they love seeing other people laugh and don’t want people to realise how bad they feel.

It’s also proven that he talks a lot, but not because he wants to.That’s something people with his condition do a lot to avoid ‘falling’ if you know what I mean, so you’re 100% right ;)

Yes this is spot on! Wade has always been the one to avoid talking about his feelings and covering up his pain through fake laughter. It’s literally the only thing that keeps him somewhat sane with all of the physical and mental abuse he went through.

And it’s actually pretty depressing whenever Wade does try and bring up how emotionally tolling it is on him to be mutilated and other characters shrug it off because they know his physical body will heal anyways with no regard to his mental health
