We’ve been slacking on the tasks but it’s coming around again! Keeping it simple as always, this task is going to be another moodboard task. Rather than focusing on just your character though, we want you to center it around a certain relationship. Whether it’s a crush on another character, siblings, parents and kids. It’s entirely up to you what relationship you want to focus on for that character and if you want to do more than one for a specific character that’s fine as well but we’re only requiring one for activity purposes. Any of those who have four or more characters only have to do a minimum of three of their characters. You have an entire week and a half to get this done, if you need an extension please message us on the main because if not you’ll be given a warning. So remember to tag your task with lodtask so we know you did it. Have fun!

Happy 19th Birthday Hope Mikaelson! Of course the miracle child wouldn’t go through a birthday without seeing a party thrown in her honor. To celebrate the special event of her birth Klaus has put together a grand party just for his little girl. Though his style is a little more dressed up, he’s requesting everyone to at least show up dressed semi-formal. The party will be held at the infamous Abattoir (the compound) and they will have plenty to do along with plenty to drink. If you don’t have an invitation to it already then you may want to figure out how to sneak yourself in because you won’t want to miss it.
This event will take place from Friday, May 13th until the next Friday, May 20th, but will only last a single night in New Orleans. All threads during this time will need to be related to the event which means everyone should plot with others. All previous threads need to be completed before Thursday, put on hold if you wish to continue it once the event is over, or tag it to show it is before the event. Don’t forget to design an outfit for your character to wear and have fun!

This weeks taks is going to be a little different and not just because we’re posting it on a Friday. This is going to involve you messaging another person and working on a thread together. Under the cut we gave an idea under each of the matched names, if for whatever reason you and the mun can’t come up with something from what was given then it is okay to come up with something else. However, names will not be switched around unless absolutely necessary. Since this is a task that requires someone else to get on and be responding, if by the week mark you have neither started or barely got anywhere with your thread because of your partner not being around let us know so that when we give warnings it does not fall on you as well. Please start this right away, we will be giving you a week and a half period for this task so when we check in the thread there should be plenty of notes on the post. Anyways, the real task for this week is a simple one that does involve a little imagination. The local tattoo shop in town is offering a special in order to promote their work. The first fifty people to go to the shop today will receive a free tattoo. Yup, you heard that right. Free. Now that expense isn’t an issue you can let your mind wander and decide what your character(s) would get.
For this task you will need to describe the tattoo that your character would get and why. Does it have a special meaning? Did they just get something in order to get a free tattoo? Or were they simply drunk? However, there are some in town who might think that tattoos are for people who don’t care about appearances. If your character happens to be one of these, please write and explain why your character chooses to pass on this once in a lifetime offer.
Life can be pretty hard sometimes. All of us are guilty of holding onto things we really don’t need. We tend to be attracted to material things that most often have no benefit to us. Even then, we hold onto things that we are meant to let go of once in a while. That’s why the annual burning boat festival is the perfect place to toss out any negativity you hold and start new and fresh.
So, for this task, you are to show a picture or describe the item(s) your character will be throwing into the burning boat. Then explain why. What is the object, what does/did it mean to you, and why are you throwing out the object? How will throwing out the object help you? Please remember to be reasonable and stay true to your character! ATTENTION RESIDENTS & VISITORS OF NEW ORLEANS! We are pleased to present our 30th annual Burning Boat Festival! An honored tradition in which residents of New Orleans can throw away and burn any bad memories they hold and start Fresh. You can burn anything you wish to. Examples include, diaries, stuffed animals, letters, jewelry, clothes, photos, ect.
Every year in our fun town of New Orleans, Lousiana, a 14-meter wooden ship is constructed for the sole purpose of burning along with everything thrown inside of it. First the boat is paraded around the city to collect the any notes explaining what people are planning to throw inside of it. Finally the boat is propped upon a giant mound on the small sandy beach and before it is set on fire via a lighted torch by non other than our Mayor himself, Marcel Gerard, residents are encouraged to begin throwing in whatever they wish do rid themselves of. The boat is then released from dock as it burns. The entire town comes abuzz for the festivities with food stalls, vendors, lanterns, fireworks, and traditional of course music & booz! If you’re of drinking age, of course. The festival gathers a large crowd of both residents and tourists as well, eager to watch the spectacle of a ship burnt to ashes. The ritual takes the entire night, and it is not until near dawn that the firecrackers are set off. But good things come to those who wait; those of us who stayed awake for the entirety were rewarded with quite a spectacle.
This event will take place from Friday April 8th until the next Friday, April 15th, but will only last a single night in New Orleans. A day late but here it is: this task is going to involve getting deep into your character(s) mind and emotions. We’re going to ask you to write a self-para of one of the darkest moments in their life. By that we mean the lowest point in their life whether it extends to them being emotionally broken or just something that they did to someone else. (I.E. murder, lose control and trigger, turn.) We want you to talk about a moment so out of their control, a moment that morphed them into the type of person they are today. Please think long and hard about what event from their past you’re going to bring up! If you’re one of the cursed children this might be a little harder for you and if you feel like there’s nothing you can write about just let us know. Also if it involves any hard topics just make sure you tag anything with warnings just for anyone else’s sake.
You’ve got till March 23rd to do this. After this date has rolled around we’ll be checking to see who has or hasn’t completed this task. The self para should be 2+ lengthy paragraphs.
Let’s talk about the real stuff. You know, the stuff that requires being an adult and the things people just don’t like thinking about? This week’s task is going to require you to really get in the brain of your character... Not really. It’s actually a fairly simple task!
Basically you’re going to answer a series of questions regarding the adult aspect of your character’s life.
What college/university did they attend? If they didn’t go. Why not? If they want to go in the future..Where?
What is their degree in? Why? Did it change? If they aren’t attending, what would they like to get a degree in? Why?
What is your character’s occupation? Why did they choose that job? Do they like it? What does a typical day look like? How much do they make? (Face it, we’re nosy as hell.)
