What is IEC CODE ONLINE (IEC)

  Import Export Code (IEC) is a unique 10 digit code which is mandatory for export of goods/Services from India or import of goods/services to India. In a nutshell, you can’t make any import or export if you don’t have this license.DGFT department was issuing a 10-digit numeric code for import export code (IEC). After the introduction of GST, DGFT department is now issuing the IEC number / IEC CODE ONLINE same as the PAN number of  an entity. By the way, this is not an automated process, the PAN number would be recorded as the import export code (IEC) of the entity only upon registration with the DGFT.
