My thoughts on BuzzFeed and Upworthy.

Even though sites like BuzzFeed and Upworthy post positive videos and articles that make us feel good, I think I'm going to block their IP address in my house for two reasons.

Have you ever clicked on a BuzzFeed article then traveled through time to three hours later, wasting your entire afternoon on nothing but looking at pictures? I've done that and it makes me want to vomit. Those three hours could've been used to make an awesome meal or go to the park or read or take my own photographs or go make someone else's day. The things I could've done are astounding.

I like inspirational things, but something about watching others doing inspirational things makes me realize that I'll never be as great as that person or all the people written about on BuzzFeed and Upworthy. But I'm great and I can make a difference in the world. It just takes a second to get up and go outside and make someone's day.

It's just that I'm not learning anything new on these sites. It's just a constant internet stew being mixed around and it's really not that interesting anymore. In fact, the stew makes my stomach queazy. So fuck internet stew. I'm going to create something myself. TLDR: The Internet is a place where mindless shit buzzes around to make you feel bad about yourself. You can change the world if you get off your computer.
