now more than ever
With the exception of fucking with the truth about whether or not I was loaded at any given moment or if I stole painkillers from your medicine cabinet, I’m no liar.
Carrie Fisher // The Princess Diarist (via theempirestrikesback2thefuture)
I just had to go lie alone and have a good cry over Carrie Fischer. This year can fucking suck my non-existent dick. Just. So much bad shit has happened. I have had so much.
And you know, I think we all look up to her. She was in the middle of that boy’s club bullshit and she did it. She didn’t let them break her. She didn’t let the pressure take her out and I really admire that. She was a role model in a lot of ways.
I’m working on a little art project I’ve been thinking about, basically just the rebel alliance symbol etched out of flowers, if I get it done I’ll post it so you dudes can have it to make stickers and the like too.
I’m just. I’m so over this year I swear. Even my heroes are dying. I’m just so afraid I’m going to lose another family member after the bullshit we’ve had.

hypopigmentation in the wild. (x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x)
“Hypopigmentation” albinism
albinism is but one form of hypopigmentation. the only examples of albinism here are seen in the kangaroo, dolphin, deer and racoon, where there is a complete absence of pigmentation.
the rest, save the bear, are examples of leucism, another form of hypopigmentation, where the pigment cells in the eyes remain unaffected. unlike albinism, it is caused by a reduction in multiple types of pigment, not just melanin. and as with the zebra in this post, can result in only partial hypogigmentation.
the kermode black bear in the last photo actually has dark skin, like a polar bear, and get its white fur from a recessive mutation of the same gene associated with red hair in humans.
choose a partner who is good for you. not good for your parents. not good for your image. not good for your bank account. choose someone who’s going to make your life emotionally fulfilling.
If you’re a Non-Muslim and you see a Muslim praying in public, could you please not pass in front of them?
Go behind them, but not in front. 👍
Oh, signal boost! I didn’t know this.
Okay, but also: if you see a Muslim praying in public and they have something in front of them, like a purse or a bag or something like that, you can pass in front of them, but pass in front of that object.
it’s called a sutrah, and it’s meant to act as a physical barrier between the person praying and someone who might happen to pass in front.
Also, if you did this and didn’t know, please don’t beat yourself up over it. Now you know! Muslims aren’t supposed to pass in front of Muslims praying, either, because prayer is communication with God and you don’t want to break that connection.
Spread culture, respect customs, be good people. Simple as that.
“I come from Ghana. I’m always smiling. People ask me: ‘Isaac, why are you always smiling?’ I tell them: ‘What else can I do?’ I am so blessed to be in this country. I work in customer service at the CVS on 57th Street and I love it. CVS is the best place that I love so much. I help people with their needs and it makes me so happy. I help them with their coupons. I help them with their medication. People bring me their challenges and I solve their problems. You can say that I am their champion. I am not a citizen. But when I help people with their problems, that makes me part of the community. So I do feel like an American.”
