A picture of my altar for Freyja.
She is another goddess I pray to, whenever I'm in a romantic mood.

Pagans and polytheists please reblog this with a song that reminds you of a deity you worship. Don’t forget to mention the deity so i know which deity you are connecting to which song!

being obsessed with your god’s domain before you started worshipping is so reassuring…
like what do you mean you’ve been here the whole time? that you’ve always been a part of me lying in wait? that you, the divine, has innervated & enriched my life long before i acknowledged you were divine? SICK!!!
I often say I’ve been worshipping the Gods long before I had words for it, I worshipped fire, and sun, moon, rain, thunder, oceans, trees, wind, earth, and everything in the natural world. I made altars even as a kid, and I said thank you constantly to Them.
Even other concepts, like I had an altar to self love (built around my mirror, as part of recovery from a bunch of body image issues), I made my bed into an altar for rest, my street medic backpack was organized by rituals, my apartment became a whole shrine to the concept of “home” when I was coming out of long term homelessness.
I’ve spoken many times here about how as I came into accepting my disabilities, I found out about Lord Hephaestus and was immediately drawn to Him, but I didn’t realize that worship was even an option. But just knowing of Him completely revolutionized my understanding of disability and my connection to my own disabled body.
I could keep listing, but basically every core aspect of my life was deeply spiritual for me, and worship of the Gods wasn’t even much of a transition. I had been doing it my whole life, just in different words.
Spirits are fluid, and move as such. The devil you met in the woods will not be the same as when you called him into your home, will not be the same as when he took your hand at the river banks. They are not wholly separate, just different.
okay thing that bothers me that’s None Of My Business
“Deity Work.” like the gods are just another branch of Ways To Do Magic. Like they’re just a tool or technique. Feels yucky to me as someone who’s a religious pagan first and foremost
