Ok one idea is that Larry (Lawrence) was an alcoholic (obviously), but he USED to be an incredibly intelligent person. He was like a scientist, and had specifically been trying to learn about the human mind. How dreams work. I like to think he became an alcoholic after Tony had gone missing (I headcanon them as brothers/having a brotherly bond, so basically they were close) and had become deathly depressed b4 dying in an ally way from alcohol poisoning
Tony was a college history teacher (cause like time, history. Yeah) and he was incredibly passionate about it. He had been depressed for a while and buried his mind into his work and studying the past rather than his future. He became angered easily, separated himself from his loved ones, and lost tons of time from this obsession. He got caught up in the secrets of Mulhoven before it drove him mad and he just decided to end it, for his own sanity.
Roy was the principal of said college, but he didn't really care for children, not even his own son. He loved Lesley, not david. Well, until David died. Roy was a smart man. He was into robotics, engineering, science. Think Rick from Rick and Morty. Lesley had become devastated after she accidentally murdered a man (coffin, or my human name for him, Mortimer) and begged her husband to fix her mistake. And he did. This is basically how Lesley became fascinated by bringing dead to life again and basically became a mad woman, killing just to experiment. She thought of the show. Created puppets herself. Roy was the one making it happen on the big screen.
shrignold and warren were totally friends, but had issues due to having different beliefs. Shrignold grew up in a messed up home where his family thought there was a god named Malcolm, who would lead you to your special one, who you would spend the rest of your days with. Warren was an atheist who thought the idea of a god or higher being was stupid, because if there was a god then the dude upstairs MUST be punishing him (warren had no friends aside from Shrig and suffered from bullying) so they had arguments often. They really weren't the greatest pair and were highly toxic to each other, but they did care for each other.
Sketch was obviously an artistic kid. She loved learning and being creative. I like to think she grew up in a home where she couldn't be that. She had to be the 'perfect girl', straight As, no dirt on her shirt, gonna become a lawyer/doctor in the future, you know the type of parents. So she took any chance she could to be loud and rough and fun. She and Colin were probably friends. Also I headcanon Colin and electracey as siblings so they would all kind of be a trio of sorts.
