“I warned you not to look, didn’t I?”
scrooqe:
As each minute passes, his mindset grows and becomes much clearer. Not exactly up to par as a normal duck, but his confusion was slowly lessening with Gyro speaking to him as he’d normally would. Nothing is out of the ordinary to him for this reason, other than memory problems he didn’t want to confront at the moment. It really is a form of deception – as it seems this clone has no idea he really is not Scrooge himself. His attention focuses up toward the machinery presentation in question, feather atop of his cane listening carefully to everything Gyro explained about. By the time he’d gotten through his well-executed presentation speech, Scrooge’s expression appeared somewhat skeptical at first, though moments later his beak formed into a smile with quite the opposite reaction.
❛ HA! I knew ye had it in y’ tae invent somethin’ top notch! Always did have faith in ye an’ these inventions o’ yours, Gyro. An’ ye didn’t disappoint, as always. ❜ ❛ Let’s proceed an’ test this G.R.A.D.E o’ yours out jus’ tae make sure, eh? ❜ Scrooge lifts up the top hat off of his head, gesturing it to the inventor. ❛ Ye can borrow this tae test it w’, as long as I get it back. ❜
Was it lying if he didn’t tell the other he was a clone himself? Well, some would say that, but in his mind Scrooge hadn’t asked so he hadn’t told. Scrooge.... well Scrooge Beta. That would be how he had to mentally refer to him both in notes and in his head. If not, he was bound to get them confused. As long as he didn’t make the slip up while talking he should be fine.
Grabbing the top hat, the grin on his face only grew. Oh, see he knew it worked, but with doing this he got 2 experiments out of the way. He let Scrooge see the device in action, which in of itself was a good idea, but also what happens when you clone a clone. See, he might have made a mistake with the Cogs- giving them the means and information to just rebuild their numbers anytime they needed it. However! That wasn’t going to be a problem now.
❝ Thank you, sir. The machine doesn’t destroy the original source of information, so you will most definitely get it back. ❞
All it took was putting it in a small cubby that existed outside of the machine, typing in a few commands at the control panel, and stepping back. Voice dripping with both pride and smugness, he looked down at his cloned boss.
❝ I would recommend closing your eyes. It might blind you with my awe inspiring genius........ also the bright light that it makes as all of the energy is dispersed and matter reorganized. ❞

“Actually – I’ve got something else of a problem.” He had heard only bits and pieces of Gyro’s work from Scrooge, but Donald assumed fairly that Scrooge would only leave the position to someone he trusts it with, after Ludwig – Gyro’s predecessor – retired from the position. Of course, Louie was the one who reminded Donald of Gyro in the first place.
“My other uncle, err– Ludwig Von Drake, used’ta work here. He was researching my – anger issues before he retired. I was supposed to get’ta see his notes a long time ago, but something – came up, yanno? I was wondering if you still had his old notes lying around somewhere.”
He felt like the reason he never got to see his uncle’s notes might’ve been obvious, but he dared not let those words leave his tongue. Of course, all of that’s not to say Donald didn’t have his fair share of accompanying researchers and the whatnot, though generally Donald accompanied them as something of a test dummy – if anything. Ludwig was no exception to this – and Donald had the slight anxiety that Gyro wasn’t, either.
Gyro raised an eyebrow at the vagueness at first. So this wasn't about his creation chasing that kid? That’s good. Truthfully he had barely dome anything to the assistant after "lecturing" it that unless it WANTED people to think it was evil, chasing little ones for their dimes was a bad idea. Of course, Lil' Bulb only shrugged him off.
Of course, hearing the reason as to why he was being visited, there was a sudden disappearance of any sort of interest he had. Notes on anger issues? Was it really something to have notes about? Sure that was interesting slightly, but it wasn’t at all what he was expecting. A small, near inaudible sigh came from him as he motioned for the duck to follow him further into his lab.
❝ Hardly something to come all the way here for. You could have sent one of the shorter ones after it. I might have it in the back. There were some notes and things left that Boss told me not to get rid of for whatever reason. ❞
Gyro was not afraid to show how little he seemed to care about all of this as he led Donald further into his labs. Bits and pieces of robots laid everywhere, multiple unfinished robots sputtering or just laying on the ground. Lil’ Bulb was off somewhere, probably trying to smash a cockroach again.
❝ Do mind the mess, and don’t step on anything. Or move it. Or touch it even. You know what- Ignore that. Don’t mind the mess, and ignore it so you won’t break anything. Why were you having Drake takes notes over your anger issues? That doesn’t seem like something worth really investing energy into researching. ❞
concept: when gyro's birtday rolls around the robots he created gather with a 'cake' they made for him & celebrate
HC. OH MY GOD YES. SO MUCH YES. He is always confused every year cause truthfully he barely remembers his birthday anymore. He finds it a useless number to keep track of. But it really does touch his heart that they remember. However, usually he won’t ACTUALLY eat the cake, due to just caution. That and it’s usually made from spare parts around his labs. That being said, he does keep them displayed (until he actually needs the parts again.)
HC. That being said like, he absolutely loves his robots with a passion, and will always do something nice for them for their birthdays. That is something he remembers very well- whenever he actually made something. He will go visit the Cogs in Toontown and that is like one of the only reasons he asks off, and overall is really good with any of his creations.

be me: apologizing that someone has to deal with gyro be me: “and here have an even more annoying gyro as your reward”
❝ What are you doing here, Donald? ❞
Sure, he had never personally met the nephew of his employer, but it would take an idiot to not know who was walking through that door. That other nephew? L-something-or-another, that was different. Donald was somewhat well recognized, however he had never personally seen him with Scrooge, or even anywhere until fairly recently. A sigh coming from him, he could only assume what the problem was. There were few people who seeked him out personally, and if there was a reason to find him, well there was a reason to find Gyro.
❝ Listen if this is about that thing, like a while ago. It’s already done and over with. I checked on Lil’ Bulb. There should be no more running around and stealing dimes and scaring the little small ones. I made sure of that. He was properly reprimanded and punished for his misdeeds and whatever else I was told to do to him that I didn’t really bother remembering. If it’s not about that........ Then I have no idea what I just said cause obviously nothing of mine has ever gone out of control that would be ridiculous. ❞

duckeryy:
I see what you’re doing there. Your reverse psychology won’t work on me, Smarts.
I wasn’t even trying to use reverse psychology on you. That would have involved telling you that I wanted you to call me that non-stop because I liked it. No what I did was say that because you would call me the “Worst Grandparent” that it would inevitably lead to you not calling me that anymore. I mean really.
scrooqe:
Scrooge straightened his position and rubbed a side of his temple while being fed this information. Slowly, some memories did come back to him, as he recognized who Gyro was the more he spoke to him. How could his conscious forget a bird like Gyro? Impossible, really. ❛ I don’t really remember anythin’ prior tae …❜ His voice cuts off, as he genuinely cannot recall anything past moments ago. ❛… Bein’ here. Last I checked m’ Scrooge Mcduck, an’ … ❜ He could not recall what he’d been doing, if he’d been doing anything. He could, however, recall some memories themselves and feelings in the past but not being around presently. It was extremely confusing, though his stubborn Mcduck streak must have passed on as he didn’t wish to dwell on it.
❛ Ah, well then. No use in all o’ th’ questions, m’ feelin’ fine.❜His throat clears. ❛ Now, wh’ is it y’ would like tae show mae?❜
Gyro listened and watched carefully, tired eyes behind glasses narrowing as Scrooge paused. Should he still be called Scrooge? Ah, none of this really affected him anyways. As long as this was going all according to plan, he would stay as Scrooge. The moment the real Mr. Mcduck found out- well, he would leave that up to the boss. Scratching out one of his previous notes, he wrote down the change. Memory- fluctuating.
Looking back up, and a proud, albeit cocky, grin growing on the fowls face, he straightened up, shoved his notepad in his pocket, and grandiosely motioned to the machine beside him. A tall, cylinder shape that truthfully looked more like a giant cookie jar with some extra stuff. Certainly complicated, but nothing too out of range for Gyro to make. Walking over to a control panel as he started talking, the tall and lanky bird was more than excited to show this off. Of course, he wasn’t exactly going to fill in the dots right away.
❝ Let me introduce you to the new, Genetic Replication And Duplicating Essence Machine, or as I like to call it, the GRADE. I even took your advice, sir. ❞
Taking a single stride to be standing right beside Scrooge, he proudly put his hands on his hips, basking in the glory of his own machine. Really, it was a work of art. While as simple as it looked, the actually process for making such a thing took quite a while, and he had needed an extreme amount of assistance from his Lil’ Bulb.
❝ All my robots turn and- well I wouldn’t say revolt but they aren’t what you’re looking for? Sure, I mean robotics is technically my thing but you know I never mind showing off my genius and how much I really know. I would like to introduce you to the first ever cloning device in Duckberg. Designed, made, and modeled by yours truly. I can show you a test run if you like, sir. I can guarantee that no ““evil”” twin, or corrupted sentient robot to cause troubles. 100%, completely evil free. ❞
duckeryy:
Sure, if ya wanna be marked as the worst grandparent ever, be my guest.
Good. Then maybe you’ll stop calling me it. I really don’t see a problem with this.

duckeryy:
Scrooge would beg to differ.
I would like to point our that Scrooge Beta is not here right now and therefor has no weight in the debate at hand. TRY ME. I AM NOT LOANING YOU LIL’ BULB.
duckeryy:
Aw – come on, not even for your dear Donnie grandson?
Unless you were made in a genetic cloning chamber of my own design you aren’t my grandson, and I would certainly appreciate if you would cease implying that you are.
duckeryy:
So, granny Gearloose, howsabout you hook me up with one of those errand-running robots?
You are not worthy of Lil’ Bulb.
I’m just done with everything. Father, Grandfather, Supreme Overlord of Machines. I don’t care what I’m called anymore. I mean Lil’ Bulb calls me father in Morse Code. Does that count?
