Heyyyy Ladies! This is Anne Adams of the blog Curls and Contours. I am so honored to be a Loralette guest blogger! For this post I styled one fabulous Loralette top 3 DIFFERENT WAYS!
During the summer months there are 3 summer activities that I am always excited about: the classic backyard BBQ, downtown date nights, and jamming out at music festivals. When clothes come into my closet the number one requirement they must have is versatility. A knit top with a trendy neckline, classic color, and loose fit is the perfect piece that can be worn again and again.
Backyard BBQ With Friends
My husband and I recently purchased a new home with an awesome patio space. We have been hosting BBQ’s for friends, and family almost every weekend. I love entertaining and decorating, so on the 4th of July we had some friends over for steaks and cocktails. My secret to a great BBQ - prepare a fun craft cocktail for your guests to try!
I styled my Loralette top with ripped boyfriend jeans and some stylish sandals. When I am entertaining at home on the patio I like to be comfortable. Before my guests arrive I am running around getting everything perfect. The last thing I need is a high maintenance outfit. BUT a hostess still wants to be stylish, so an off the shoulder top adds that little something basic jeans and a tee is missing.
Every summer I do my best to make it to at least one music festival. I love live music, the atmosphere, and exploring new places. Being a plus size woman I do have some concerns about dressing for festivals. It’s usually hot and dirty, you are usually walking a ton out in the sun, and when it is dark it can get chilly. My tried and true formula for comfortable stylish festival fashion is LIGHT LAYERS.
I paired my Loralette knit off the shoulder top with some linen wide leg pants, and a hat for sun protection. I tied the top up for a fitted look, that can show as much or as little skin as I would like. Wearing linen pants works in two ways, 1. they are SUPER comfortable and breezy, 2. NO CHUB RUB. When you have been out in a field for 15 hours waiting for the headlining act, a garment that can protect you from a skin rash is a life saver. I always, ALWAYS have a hat to protect my face and shoulders from the sun, and this accessory really dresses up my whole look.
My husband and I are SUPER busy people. Whether it is working late or family commitments we are always going and doing. But we always trying to fit in a date night. We are casual people, but on date night I like to slip into some heels and a cute top. I paired my Loralette OTS top with some curve hugging skinnies and my favorite mules. I kept my accessories simple with a snakeskin clutch and hassle earrings. We had a day date at a local Italian place with a yummy Caprese salad and Lemocello, which was perfection. I was super happy to have such a comfortable top on because I was FULLL when we left! LOL.
I always go for the same date night outfit formula. Curve hugging skinnies, comfy heels, and a flowy top. I love this summer take on the look with navy and white. In July its socially acceptable to rock red, white and blue all month long! I always pair tight bottoms with a flowy top, and loose fitting bottoms with a fitted top. This keeps your look proportional and comfortable!
