I am not here to reassure you that you're not fat ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Forgive the double negative, but I'm too exhausted from trying to uphold the constant, "no truly that doesn't make you look fat" narrative, to formulate a better sentence ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So what if it does? Is looking more like my body truly the nightmare you make it out to be, standing half clad in a change room? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Or did you really just reveal that you view my body as less than yours. That even the appearance of looking more like me is a tragedy. And no, saying you love how I look, while remarking how awful and fat you feel doesn't somehow make it better ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So forgive the bluntness as I call out the way we talk out of both sides of our mouths and if you claim bodypositive while bemoaning the weight you put on over the winter, the fact you allllwaaaays look fatter in photos, the way you really need to lose that last 10 pounds before your beach vacation - then you're simply not. You're not here to lift up others or to push the rigid constraints of commercialized beauty. You're a wolf in sheeps clothing, pretending to be on the side of a fat body, while desperately clinging to your own thinness. And we need to do better. So say it with me "Does this make me look fat?" Yup. And that's fucking glorious.
